Happy Looks Good On You

Have you ever heard the saying that true beauty comes from the inside out? Well it’s true!

True beauty starts with a happy heart, a happy mind and a happy soul. That happiness radiates out through your eyes and your smile giving you a beauty that you can’t find in the makeup aisle.

But let’s be honest, for some of us that true unfiltered happiness can come straight from the makeup aisle in the form of the confidence and inner strength that it gives you!

I’m all for celebrating whatever makes you the happiest so bring on the beauty!

Hello, Get Happy

Benefit Cosmetics has always been the happiest beauty brand I could possibly think of with their unique, fun, and quirky packaging and now they have literally bottled sunshine and encapsulated that happy feeling in a foundation.

The new Hello Happy Soft Blur Foundation ($38 CAD/$29 USD) comes in the most adorable square, soft plastic tubes with little heart-eyed happy faces and rose gold accents. Inside lies a beautiful sheer liquid foundation with a truly weightless feel that evens out skin tone, blurs out the surface of the skin and has a natural finish. It is the ideal foundation for the summer and it became my current fav after just one use!

Formulation

Hello Happy is definitely not your average foundation, it is a subtle complexion perfecter that only enhances what you have naturally, feels like nothing at all and looks like skin through and through.

Seamless is the one word that I would use to describe this foundation. It has an insanely lightweight, creamy serum-like texture that melts into the skin seamlessly. It can be applied and blended with a sponge, a brush or even your fingers and it will look seamless each and every time. The coverage ranges from light to buildable medium and 1 drop concentrated in the centre of the face is more than enough for me. That one drop will cover the majority of my redness, even out any discolouration, and disguise any spots or scars without looking like I have anything on at all! I can add more if I feel the need but it never looks artificial or heavy.

Part of the reason that it looks so stunning on is the inclusion of optical blurring spheres – smooth spherical beads that softly diffuse light to create a blurred effect. They truly create an optical illusion by leaving a soft focus filter over the skin. It’s subtle and simply gives an effortless airbrushed effect leaving you with a natural second skin look yet perfected. It also contains Shea Butter to smooth the look of skin even further.

Shade Range

Hello Happy comes in 12 unique shades but translates closer to 40 shades as Benefit wanted to create a range that made shade matching easier. The foundation range was tested on 500 different women  and to make sure they had a shade that would work for each and every one, Benefit designed a range that featured true neutral undertones for olive, beige and almond complexions. These ultra flexible shades means you will definietly be able to find your perfect fit.

1 Fair Cool, 2 Light Warm, 3 Light Neutral, 4 Medium Neutral, 5 Medium Cool, 6 Medium Warm, 7 Medium Tan Warm, 8 Tan Warm, 9 Deep Neutral, 10 Deep Warm, 11 Dark Neutral, 12 Dark Warm

I am so in love with this foundation and it has been my everyday staple for almost two months now. It weighs nothing, looks like nothing but skin and feels like nothing on the skin. it has the most delightful finish and is just a breeze to use.
