Summer is here and I don’t know about you but when it starts to heat up and the sun is shining strong I want to put away all of my heavy matte makeup and bring out all of the lightweight, second skin-like, naturally radiant products.
I have already started swapping out my day to day products and this new line of glow-boosting goodies is a serious staple.
One of L’Oreal’s cult classic products – the True Match Lumi Foundation – has been reimagined yet again as a new range of customizable glow giving products that can be mixed, matched, layered, and infused into other bases for that ultimate effortless glow.
The new True Match Lumi Collection is the perfect place to start your glow journey as it has 3 different textures, formulas, and intensities to customize your glow and personalize it to your abilities and needs. There is an option for every girl, every skill level, every preference and every skin tone.
Light Glow – The Lumi Glotion Natural Glow Enhancer ($19.99 CAD/$14.99 USD)
The first level of the glow scale, this 2-in-1 lotion is a magical base to wear alone on the daily, to mix in with tinted moisturizers and foundations and to prep your skin before makeup for a lit-from-within glow.
This easy, all-in-one highlighting moisturizer is an effortless way to achieve a fresh, natural radiance with just a touch of colour to enhance that sun-kissed skin. The lightweight moisturizer base provides all day hydration without a greasy feel and the luminizer aspect gives off a gorgeous healthy radiance without any shimmer or glitter. It comes in 4 shades (fair, light, medium, deep) all of which have a slight rosy, bronzy glow.
I love to use the shade fair all over the face as a primer but I also love to mix in a bit of light or medium when I want a bit of extra colour.
(Lumi Glotion L-R Fair – Light)
Medium Glow – True Match Lumi Glow Nude Highlighter Palettes – ($20.99 CAD/$14.99 USD)
The mid-range option from this collection, the Glow Nude Highlighter Palettes come in two shades Sunkissed (warm golden bronze) and Moonkissed (cool iridescent glow). The 4 pan powder palettes are very reminiscent of some more high end options and they give you the ability to create a multidimensional glow by layering, mixing and matching different shades within the quad.
The palettes have some beautiful shades that work for a variety of skin tones even the fairest like myself. However, the powders are not my favourite as they are dry, powdery, chalky and not bendable or easy to apply. I also find they are not very pigmented and have too much glitter.
Intense Glow – True Match Lumi Glow Amour Glow Boosting Drops ($18.99 CAD/$14.99 USD)
The top slot on the glow scale goes to these gorgeous drops of radiance. The Glow Amour illuminating pigments are very similar to more expensive alternatives but for a fraction of the cost.
They have the same ultra lightweight, thin formula that blends seamlessly into skin when applied to the high points of the face and incorporates into foundations easily. The drops are semi-sheer and a little bit goes a long way but they can built upon with ease. They leave a dewy glow and a strobe like effect without any obvious glitter or shimmer.
(Top-Botton – Daybreak & Golden Hour)
The drops come in two shades, Daybreak (a pearly pink glow) and Golden Hour (a warm, yellow gold), both of which are absolutely beautiful!
I love to apply a few drops of the shade Daybreak to a sponge and then apply them to the high points of the face for a more glass-like glow. I also love to layer a powder highlight on top for an added pop!
I have been absolutely hooked on these products since they came across my desk. I have loved using the Glotion every single day as my base and a primer and then I have loved adding the drops onto the cheeks for that added wow-factor.
