We all want the same things when it comes to our makeup – great performance. No matter what you want in terms of coverage, colour, or formula at the end of the day, we want it to still be on our face. That is why I am a massive fan of the Infallible collection from L’Oreal Paris.
The Infallible range features two of my absolute favourite foundations (pro matte review), a fantastic powder, a setting spray, and a beautiful range of matte glosses (review). Now, L’Oreal has decided to expand the range to feature a whole new set of incredible infallible products. There is now a new foundation, a concealer palette, a corrector palette, a blush palette, liquid eyeliners, liquid eye and lip pigments and beauty sponges!
Everything you have dreamed and hoped for is now available in the signature Infallible formula that stays all day and withstands water, sweat, exercise, smudging and transfer. So no matter what your day throws at you, the Infallible Total Cover Collection has you covered.
Infallible Total Cover Foundation
The newest addition to the Infallible foundation line up is the new Total Cover Foundation (1oz – $12.99 USD/$19.99 CAD). Designed to be the missing piece in the collection, the Total Cover foundation is meant to be the perfect middle point between the Pro Matte and the Pro Glow formulas. It is described as a 24 hour, ultra-full coverage foundation with a weightless feel and a natural satin finish.
The highly pigmented formula comes in 12 shades and is said to instantly cover dark spots, blemishes, scars, and hyperpigmentation almost to the point of eliminating the need for a concealer. It is said to give a flawless finish with ultimate coverage, a seamless appearance, and a ultra-lightweight feel.
Shades 301 – 312
Being such a massive fan of the other Infallible foundations, I needed to give this line a really thorough testing. After trying this foundation combined with different products, applied in different ways and worn through various activities I have settled on my thoughts.
The Total Cover Foundation is a really fantastic addition to the range, it does indeed offer an incredible amount of coverage that gives you an airbrushed, seamless finish. It is not pigmented enough that you will look cakey and it will not cover something like a tattoo when applied on its own. It looks very thick when it comes out of the tube but it actually has a very fluffy, thin, lightweight texture that glides on and melts into the skin.
Even though it offers high coverage, it does not look fake or like you are wearing a lot of makeup. It actually becomes like a second skin. A tiny bit goes a very long way and it dries in seconds so it is key to use small amounts and work in small sections.
It sets to a very comfortable natural but almost matte finish and while it does not settle into pores or accentuate fine lines, it does attach itself to dry spots. If you have very dry skin or are prone to dry patches, it is not the foundation for you.
Total Cover Concealing & Correcting Palettes
The Colour Correcting Kit comes with 4 correcting concealers (green, purple, yellow, peach) and a sponge. The combination of colours creates the perfect palette for the everyday girl to correct her own imperfections, neutralize discolouration, hide dark circles, and disguise acne.
The Concealing & Contouring Kit comes with 4 neutral toned shades to help conceal and create depth and dimension through cream contouring. The neutral tones make it perfect for learning how to contour using cream which gives a more natural finish.
Both palettes have a very similar formula, the concealers are thin yet very creamy and blend flawlessly into the skin. They are really nicely pigmented and offer the perfect amount of coverage when combined with the foundation.
I really enjoyed the new additions to the Infallible Collection and it’s really exciting to see my favourite affordable makeup range expanding. Keep your eyes peeled for reviews of the rest of the collection soon!
