Hey Beauties!

Contouring has been a massive trend in makeup for the last couple of years, working it’s way down from makeup artists to higher end companies and now finally to the drugstore. Some of our favourite affordable brands are releasing their own takes on the contour kit craze and while most of them are pretty fantastic, L’Oreal has taken it one step further with the perfect palette for majorly chiseled cheeks.

The L’Oreal Infallible Pro Contour Palette retails for $12.99 USD/ $19.99 CAD and comes in three skin tone coordinated shades – light, medium and deep. The palettes are slim and compact with only two powders inside. While most contour palettes feature an array of shades to flatter different skin tones or some even contain a blush, these palettes have simplified the matter by including only what you need.

Each palette contains two co-ordinated highlighting and contouring shades with 0.24oz of product. The Infallible palette is designed to help you achieve the most flawless yet natural contour using powders that reflect the natural shadows of the face.

If you think about it, the purpose of contouring is to enhance various facial features and create an illusion of higher cheekbones, a smaller nose etc. To do that, you need to use products that imitate the natural tones and hollows so a warm toned bronzer just won’t do the trick.

The Infallible palette in Light features a matte cool toned brown as the contour and a soft beige with yellow undertones and a fine shimmer as the highlight.

The two powders are absolutely gorgeous. The contour shade is the perfect mid tone that looks like a natural shadow but does not look messy or muddy on my fair skin. The highlight is softly luminescent (the shimmer is not noticeable) and brings the face to life without looking obvious. The highlight is beautiful placed under the eyes to brighten them up.

Both of the powders have a fantastic formula, they are super fine and smooth with a silky feel. They are easily blendable and they have a creaminess to them that prevents them from accentuating texture or looking dry.

They are softly pigmented, not intense on colour payoff but can be built up to create either an intense or subtle contour. I actually prefer that they are on the softer side because you can’t go wrong or over apply.

( Top = Highlight, Bottom = Contour)

Although I prefer to use my own brushes, L’oreal has provided their exclusive Pro-Sculpt Brush to make contouring a breeze for anyone who may not have a massive brush collection.

The Pro-Sculpt Brush is shaped to curve around your cheekbone with the bristles applying just the right amount of product in exactly the right place. The brush is designed so that each end will pick up a shade so you can simply swipe onto your face and the brush will do all of the work for you.

The L’Oreal Infallible Pro Contour Palette makes contouring a complete breeze. The powders are absolutely beautiful and they have a fantastic formula. They look beautiful on the skin and last all day long.

I love how small and portable the palette is and that there are no frills, just exactly what you need.

If you are looking for a no fuss contour palette that delivers amazing powders in the perfect shades then check out the Infallible Palettes.

The L’Oreal Infallible Pro Contour Palettes are available now at your local drugstore or online here and at Ulta

I have watched Youtubers talk about this palette. The brush looks weird though. Do you actually use it or do you use a different brush?

I'm so lazy that on the few occasions when I contour, I use a double-ended stick. But everything from L'Oreal's Infallible line is terrific and this little compact looks good too. Even the brush is less flimsy looking than most drugstore palette brushes. Nice

I'm glad that you seemed to like it. Was it Tati (?) or someone I was watching the other day seemed to be really disappointed in this duo. I can't be bothered to contour 99% of the time, but I think it's a great option if you want to try out the look. Great review! Katherine || The Green Bows

I definitely want to start contouring! I find it a bit intimidating because I feel like it could become a dramatic contour easily.

I'm as much pro finding a drugstore steal as the next girl, but I just struggle with powder contouring kits because of my dryness-prone skin. I recently discovered the contour stick from PUR Cosmetics, and it's been my favorite, by far. Granted, it's nearly $40, so I'm definitely on the lookout for a less pricey version.XO, Oksana from FOXYOXIE.com
