L'oreal Infallible Pro Matte Lip Glosses | Review & Swatches Of 9 Shades | Bold Pigmented Glosses With A Matte Finish

Hey Beauties!

The makeup industry is being completely taken over by the matte liquid lipstick trend with just about every single brand (both affordable and high end) releasing their version of the perfect matte lipstick. It’s overwhelming to us makeup lovers, let alone the everyday woman looking to explore the trend without a lot of drama and with so many options it might seem impossible to find the right formula.

While I personally love anything and everything matte, sometimes I find myself looking for something that has that matte look but gives my lips a break from the matte formula.

Well, it seems L’oreal read my mind and understood exactly what I (and every other woman) needed to bridge the gap in the matte lip market.

The Basics

The L’oreal Infallible Pro Matte Glosses retail for $13.99 CAD and are a new permanent addition to the Infallible line. They are the very first long wear whipped matte lip colour that acts as a moisturizing gloss but wears like a matte lipstick.

Essentially, the Pro Matte Glosses are a non sticky gloss with a matte finish. They offer the convenience of a lipgloss and the popular matte look without the dry texture of a liquid lipstick.

The Packaging

They come in sleek curved tubes with transparent bodies that let each shade shine through and are topped with matte black caps. Inside they have a “Pro Sculpt” applicator which is a wide flocked doe foot with a dip in the centre. It makes application an absolute breeze by depositing the perfect amount of product and spreading it evenly over the lips. The pointed tip can then be used to outline the lips and add detail.

The Formula

The Pro Matte Glosses are ultra pigmented lip colours with full opacity in one swipe. They are so incredibly saturated with pigment that each shade has a vibrant multidimensional look unlike anything else I’ve seen before.

They have a super creamy, almost mousse-y texture that is thicker than a traditional gloss but much thinner than the average lipstick. The featherlight whipped formula means they glide on effortlessly without falling into lines or accentuating natural texture.

When first applied they have a bit of shine but they almost immediately set to a true velvety matte finish. Once applied you can barely feel them on and you will almost forget you are wearing anything at all. They leave a smooth, soft finish to the lips that never feels dry, cakey or flat. They will transfer as all glosses do but with the Pro Matte Glosses you will not experience any feathering or migrating. They have incredible staying power at around 6 hours before softly fading to an even stain.

The Shade Range

There are ten shades in total ranging from true nudes and beiges to bold reds and burgundies with plenty of vibrant pinks in between. I have nine of the ten shades and every single one blew me away. They all applied flawlessly with dramatic pigmentation, full coverage in a swipe and a gorgeous matte finish. They all wore equally and felt amazing on. They truly feel like you have nothing on your lips and never feel dry in the slightest.

The shades from left to right are 308 Shangai Scarlet, 312 Rouge Envy, 310 Forbidden Kiss, 304 Rebel Rose, 302 Fuchsia Amnesia, 300 Blushing Ambition, 316 Statement Nude, 318 Bare Attraction and 314 Nude Allure. My personal favourites are Shanghai Scarlet, Forbidden Kiss, Blushing Ambition and Statement Nude.

Final Thoughts

I LOVE the L’oreal Infallible Pro Matte Glosses! I can’t contain the amount of love I have for these products because I feel like they truly filled a massive gap in the matte lipstick market. They have such an incredible formula that makes it almost too easy to achieve the matte lip look without any discomfort or dryness. I think everyone needs to get their hands on at least 5 of these beauties because they are that good!

Matte, but not dry is a hard texture to achieve- sounds promising! And wow, the shades and pigmentation- I'm tempted :)

I love the colors but I do believe its contradiction being a gloss, a matte, and moisturizing at the same time! I can't wait til my Lipstick Lockdown is lifted towards the end of January!

It is but that's why they are so unique! I love that L'oreal tried to create a distinction!

Wow those are PIGMENTED! It's really too bad that L'Oreal is getting more expensive though.

These colors are great! I love that they are one swipe jobbers. That makes applying easier and I feel like the staying power are better in those kind for some reason.

I am not much on matte formulas. I don't have vivacious lips to pull off the look. However, that is a handsome tube of liquid lipstick. I would purchase it just for the packaging.

Isn't it so sleek? I would maybe try these because they do have a more forgiving matte!
