Every change of the season means a new change in wardrobe, and with the weather already starting to cool, I know I’m going to have to add some fall attire into my fashion rotation soon.
I don’t have a lot to spend on a fall wardrobe this year, so when I do decide to buy a few things, I know I have to make them count. To stay on budget this time of year, I look for pieces that I can seamlessly use in the fall and winter months. I also search for those long-lasting styles that I can continue to utilise for seasons to come.
If you’re trying to stay financially sensible this season, here are a few budget-friendly trends I’ve found that you should keep an eye on.
Oversized bohemian-inspired sweaters have covered this site’s articles recently, and I couldn’t be happier about it. I love the added comfort and effortless look that can be achieved with a relaxed fit and off-the-shoulder design. But what makes these cosy sweaters one of my favorite trends for fall is the universal fit and ease that you can find a size. Do you usually wear a medium but the store only has larges? No problem, you can still grab your favourite design and make it look more size appropriate with a belt. With this trend, you never have to pass up on a sale.
If you’re looking to add a new bag to add to your collection this season, you can’t go wrong with a bucket bag. One writer even called 2015 “the year of the bucket bag,” with celebrities such as Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lawrence, and Hailey Baldwin all spotted sporting the style. There are a wide variety of patterns and fabrics to choose from, but the bag’s functional, roomy design and casual style put it at the top of my must-have list. Invest in one now and you’ll certainly get your money’s worth out of it.
Black Ankle Boots
According to this article, a flat, black ankle boot is going to be a popular pick for fall footwear, on and off the runway. They can be simple and understated with a moderate heel, or adorned with details for an eye-catching look. No matter which pair you choose, they can easily be dressed up or dressed down. Pair them with a skinny pant leg or a skirt and tights, and you’re ready for wherever the night takes you.
I love this trend because if you’re anything like me, you probably already have a pair (or two) of flat, black ankle boots in your closet. Plus, most ankle boots are pretty darn comfortable. I’d much rather wear them during a night out then suffer through bar hopping in narrow stilettos.
You can get the latest trends and still stick to a reasonable budget, you just have to know how to look for them. Make sure you choose long-lasting, functional styles and you can kiss that feeling of shopper’s remorse goodbye.
