Over the last month or so I have been trying to break out of my routine and my tendency to wear the same blush every single day. While I love to shake up pretty much every other part of my makeup routine I have trouble moving from one blush to another because I fall so hard every time I use one. A blush that I just haven’t been able to put down no matter how hard I try is the Benefit Cosmetics Boxed Blush in Hervana.
Hervana is the perfect summertime blush, it is a soft orchid pink that gives a gorgeous glow to the cheeks and leaves you looking fresh faced and bright eyed. It is made from 4 gorgeous shades – a “lucky shell” (creamy white), a “divine peach” (light shimmery peach), a “heavenly rose” (pinky mauve) and a “berry delight” (orchid purple). They can be swirled together to create a stunning orchid pink with a soft satin finish that gives a beautiful dewy look to the skin. There is an incredibly fine shimmer that some how manages to give you an angelic glow that is perfect for summer days.
It is my absolute favourite for no makeup makeup days because it adds a perfect flush to the cheeks but also acts as a subtle highlight. I love to wear it with a tiny bit of bronzer and nothing else on the skin for the perfect dewy summer skin. Finished off with mascara, brows and a glossy lip, I don’t need anything else to feel put together. I have been rocking this look nonstop all summer long, even on days when I want to wear a more full face, I can’t put this blush down.
In terms of formula, Benefit makes one of my absolute favourite and Hervana is no exception. It is so insanely soft and smooth and easy to work with. It has a sheer formula which I love in blush because it is so much easier to build up to the colour you want than to take away when you’ve applied too much.
Hervana has the perfect amount of pigment because you can see the colour in one swipe but it’s a soft diffused version of what’s in the pan. It layers beautifully and never looks too heavy or obvious, you can apply as much as you like and it won’t emphasize pores or look cakey. Hervana also has a great life span, like the rest of the Benefit Boxed Powders, it lasts a good 8 hours before fading evenly.
Hervana has become a serious staple in my collection, I can’t stop using it and I might just hit pan soon. It’s an all around winner and I really don’t have any complaints, it even smells amazing. You can buy Hervana for $36 CAD online or at various Sephora and Murale locations.
I have loved Hervana, Hoola and Rockateur so much that I want to get my hands on the rest of the line, what shade should I get next?
