Last week I shared my thoughts on L’oreal’s La Palette Nude collection focusing on the palette in shade 1 in particular. Then I showed you my absolute favourite look created with shades from that palette. This week I wanted to wrap up my little series with a review on La Palette 2 and another makeup look. If you want to learn a little bit more about the collection and the first palette then check out these two posts ( review & look)
For a little recap, the L’oreal La Palette Nude collection is inspired by makeup artist’s must have eyeshadow palettes and gives you everything you need to master the everyday nude eye. L’oreal has finally answered our prayers and delivered an affordable neutral eyeshadow palette that is actually fantastic quality. These palettes completely blow other options out of the water and make eyeshadow palettes achievable for the mass market.
Both palettes come in super sleek black packaging with a large mirror and a double ended applicator. On the back of the palettes, there is a numbered guide to the shadows as well as 4 makeup looks with instructions.
La Palette Nude 1 has ten warm toned shadows in shades of bronze, brown and gold while La Palette Nude 2 has ten cool toned shadows in shades of taupe, mauve and plum. There is a mixture of matte, shimmer and satin shadows and all of them are absolutely gorgeous.
From left to right, La Palette Nude 2 has a satin light pink ivory, a shimmery rosy brown, a matte mauve, a matte taupe brown, a satin taupe grey, a matte chocolate, a shimmery reddish brown, a matte light pink, a matte dark mauve, and a satin plum.
All ten of the shadows are beautifully formulated, they are ultra creamy and feel silky to the touch, even the matte shades are soft and buttery smooth. They all have fantastic pigmentation but are not too intense that they would be overwhelming to someone who is new to eyeshadow. They build up beautifully to create a rich look with plenty of depth. They are all a bit powdery but that never translates into being dry or chalky. If you use sheer layers and tap off excess before application, you will have almost no issues with fallout.
There are some fantastic matte transition shades that are perfect for showcasing the gorgeous shimmer and satin shades. The shimmer shadows are rather subtle because there is no glitter or frost to be seen. There give your eyes a gorgeous glow that reflects light beautifully. They are more subtle than other shimmer shadows on the market but that makes them much more appropriate for everyday.
All of the shadows build up really well and blend flawlessly. They are incredibly easy to buff out and blend to create a seamless eye. With primer applied underneath, these shadows last at least 7-8 hours without any creasing or flaking.
Overall this is another winner from L’oreal, I’m really pleased to see that both palettes were of the same fantastic quality. The consistency is really lovely and it proves that L’oreal knows what they are doing. The La Palette Nude 1 and 2 are absolutely perfect for achieving the everyday nude eye and I love that they see that “nude” doesn’t just mean brown or cream, a “nude” eye can be just about anything as long as it is simplistic and chic. I personally love to rock a mauve eye and I am so incredibly happy that there is an affordable palette I can use.
I truly think that these palettes are amazing quality for the price and I think L’oreal has knocked it out of the park. If you are a beginner or a beauty lover I think this is a fantastic palette to have in your collection and I think it is worth every penny.
Stay tuned for a makeup look with this palette on Friday!
