Review | Garnier Clean+ Makeup Removing Lotion Cleanser

Hey Beauties!

Skincare is something that is so incredibly complicated, it takes years to figure out what works for you and even then your skin can change at the drop of a hat and you are back to square one. I have been trying to nail down a good skincare routine for at least the last year and I seem to have finally figured out what works for me. I will share my new routine with you soon but first I wanted to share something that has helped significantly – the Garnier Clean+ Makeup Removing Lotion Cleanser*.

I happen to be one of those people that loves to apply their makeup but absolutely hates to take it off. I have an endless supply of makeup wipes to get the job done quickly and with as little mess as possible before a quick cleanse. I’ve been using this method for quite a few years and even though I knew it wasn’t good for my super sensitive skin and it definitely didn’t leave it feeling very nice or actually remove all of the makeup, I stuck with it because it was easy. I knew I needed to step up my game so I slowly worked my way into the world of micellar waters and now I am head over heels with the idea of lotions and creamy balms to get the job done.

The Garnier Clean+ Makeup Removing Lotion Cleanser is completely unique in the world of affordable skincare, the shelves in the drugstore are packed full of cleansers, toners and makeup removers but they are all relatively similar and I don’t think I have seen another product quite like this. This is a creamy white lotion that you apply to dry skin with your fingers and gently massage into your skin and around your eyes before removing with either water or a cotton pad. The quick break technology in this water based lotion instantly dissolves makeup and removes even the most stubborn eyeliner and mascara.

The creamy consistency means you aren’t tugging or pulling at your skin as it gently lifts the makeup and soothes any irritation. It is formulated with Moringa seed to purify and plant extracts to leave skin feeling moisturized and protected from pollutants and is fragrance, alcohol, dye and oil free. Once you remove the lotion your skin is completely free of makeup and feels hydrated, plump and smooth. The immediate difference you see and feel in your skin is incredible and like nothing I have felt before, it is clean but also refreshed and soothed. The lotion tends to leave a bit of a film so I like to follow up with a second cleanser and the combination has changed my skin significantly. My super sensitive skin is much calmer and most importantly I no longer get any sort of irritation or redness during cleansing. It is much more effective at removing all of my makeup than my face wipes and practically mess free with the lack of water needed.

My skin has been loving the effect the Garnier cleanser has had, it is rejuvenated, softer and all around more moisturized. As the first step in my nighttime skincare routine, it sets the bar for the rest of the products to live up to and I can’t wait to share the rest of my routine with you soon.

If you are looking for a new way to remove your makeup while nourishing your skin at the same time then I highly suggest you give the Garnier Clean+ Makeup Removing Lotion Cleanser ($11.99) a try.

I've been waiting for a budget cream/oil-based cleanser to come along for a really long time now and ..oh well,I guess I'll keep on waiting, since Garnier Russia hasn't released this one in my country yet 😄 But at least now I'll be more hopeful and knowing what to look out for.
