Valentine’s Day is only one sleep away but my boyfriend and I celebrated last night with a little date night out. I was so incredibly excited to have the chance to create a romantic Valentine’s Day inspired makeup look just for that occasion. I had been planning out different ideas and then the most adorable little package from Wet n’ Wild arrived on my doorstep and I knew exactly what I was going to do!
I was so inspired by the beautiful purple and pink tones of the Wet n’ Wild Petal Pusher Eyeshadow Palette and the Mega Glow Illuminating Powder. I knew instantly that I wanted to create a beautiful berry eye with a rosy cheek and an all over golden glow – a Valentine’s Day Goddess if you will.
To start off my golden goddess look, I needed to warm up my complexion and the Colour Icon Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana was the perfect product for the job. The Colour Icon Bronzers are simply gorgeous, a special blend of nylon treated powders that create a silky, blendable colour that just melts into the skin. Reserve Your Cabana is the perfect shade for a fair skinned girl like me, it adds just a touch of colour with a beautiful luminosity to make you look healthy and glowing.
Next, I used the gorgeous Mega Glow Illuminating Powder in Catwalk Pink to add a rosy glow to my cheeks. Four shades – a champagne, a light pink, a rose, and a warm bronze swirled together create the perfect luminous glow with a natural hint of colour. The colours blend together so seamlessly and add a bit of dimension to your face. To top it off you can use each strip of colour individually to highlight or shade different parts of your face. I added a little bit of the champagne shade to the top of my cheekbones to add even more glow.
Moving on to the eyes, – the star of the show – I fell in love with the beautiful shades in the Petal Pusher Eyeshadow Palette. There are eight absolutely stunning shades that can be used individually or together to create a dynamic eye. The shadows are perfectly colour coordinated and labelled to make application incredibly easy and the collection has every shade you might need from a white highlight to dark shimmery black. The best bit is that every single shadow in the palette has incredible rich pigmentation and blends like a dream! The quality of these shadows blew me away and they were an absolute pleasure to use.
To achieve my berry eye, I used the second shade down on the right all over the lid and along the lower lash line then used the shade below it in the crease and the outer v. After blending thoroughly I used the second shade down on the left in the centre of the lid to add a hint of shimmer and lightness. Lastly I used the white shade at the top left to highlight under my brow bone and in the inner corner.
To add the finishing touches to the eyes, I added a touch of mascara and a small wing and then tightlined using the Colour Icon Brow & Eye Liner in Black Black. The Colour Icon Liner is perfect for tightlining with it’s creamy texture and rich black shade, it glides on without much tugging and it lasted all night long.
To finish off the look, I wanted to keep my lips simple with such a beautiful berry eye to capture the spotlight. I chose to use one of my absolute favourite lipsticks the Mega Last Matte Lipstick in 902C Bare It All. I have loved these lipsticks for a very long time and my collection is steadily growing, they offer a stunning semi-matte finish with intense colour in one swipe that can be easily built up to make a bold impact. They are really long wearing and they don’t budge, smudge, feather or flake. They are formulated with Hyaluronic Microspheres to help provide hydration as well as to aid the lipstick in adhering to the lips. They also have a bit of Vitamin A & E to help smooth the lips and prevent them from drying out.
So that is my finished Valentine’s Day Date Night look created with the help of some pretty amazing Wet n’ Wild products. I was so impressed with the products and they helped me create a look far better than I imagined. My boyfriend was pretty pleased too!
I highly recommend you try out some of these Wet n’ Wild products and you can find them at your local Rexall/Pharma Plus and online!
