When autumn rolls around I tend to get a bit more adventurous with my eye makeup. Something about the cooler weather, earlier nights and cosy fall fashion makes me want to smoke out my eyes and play with darker tones of navy, copper and burgundy. One of my favourite looks as of late was inspired by a beautiful sunset and the turning leaves outside my window.
To achieve this look I used my favourite eyeshadow palette from Stila – In The Light. I love this palette because it has stunning neutral shades in both matte and shimmer formulas, including the famous Kitten but it also has an array of unique browns and blues. All together, In The Light has all the shades you need to create a day time neutral eye or something a bit more special. So how did I achieve this golden burgundy smoky eye?
To start, I primed my lids with the L’oreal Color Riche Eyeshadow Primer and then followed up by applying the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk all over the lid. After blending out the edges I applied Bliss from the In The Light palette as a transition shade and then used Sandstone to deepen up the crease. Again lots of blending before I applied the star of the show, the shade Sunset right in the centre of the lid. Sunset is a stunning copper colour with rich red undertones and tiny flecks of gold shimmer. Plenty of blending with a clean brush to finish it off and a bit of Bare to highlight the inner corners and Voila!
A super simple but stunning eyeshadow look that is perfect for the beginning of autumn!
