Keeping up with my Summer Salads theme, I wanted to share another one of my favourites – an original style Greek salad. Did you know that a traditional Greek salad actually has no lettuce whatsoever? Well, its true! If you go to an authentic Greek restaurant and order a salad you should receive a mixture of tomato, cucumber, red onion and feta cheese – no lettuce! Being a huge fan of Greek food, I have been eating salad like this for years and I thought I should share it with you! This recipe is another one that is incredibly simple but packed with flavour and colour.
What You Need:
1 whole tomato
1/2 a cucumber
1/2 a small red onion
1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
dressing to taste ( I use this)
This recipe is so easy to make, literally all you need to do is chop up your vegetables into small chunks and place them in a bowl. Add your feta cheese to the bowl and then sprinkle a little bit of dressing onto the mixture. Toss everything together and voila!
Serve with a yummy sandwich or even some salmon and you have the perfect fresh summer meal!
