The Greige Effect

Greige – a raw textured silk with a tone between beige and grey

Forget nude, when it comes to a chic nail, griege is the way to go. This mix of neutral tones has been taking over the beauty world for the last year or so and it has become a staple in my collection. While I love my bright colours sometimes you just need a clean neutral base to add a sleek element to your look and greige is my favourite way to do that. A pure nude or even a beige can compete with your skintone and create a washed out appearance but add that little bit of grey into the mix and you have a chic multidimensional nail that will work with every outfit. My favourite griege nail polishes are Chinchilly, Urban Jungle and Master Plan from Essie,  Silver Lining and Always Naked from Covergirl and Grey Headed Lovebird from Essence

Have you tried a greige nail? What is your favourite shade?

I love the whole griege look! Nudes look really strange on me whereas grey looks that little bit better so I love it. I might have to pick up one of those Essie polishes though -they look lovely.Rachael at

I'm too pale for beige, so I love the greys and brown based neutral. Chinchilly is amazing for winter! I love the photo setup…Emma, my queen <3

I love the look of Greige-toned nail polishes- classy, but not at all boring. I really want to try Chinchilly!
