Review | NYX HD Photogenic Concealer Wand

On the day to day I don’t actually wear a whole lot of makeup and I definitely don’t wear foundation. I’m lucky in that I am actually pretty happy with my skin, I don’t have any major discolouration or issues that I need to cover completely and I prefer my freckles to show through. So on a daily basis I will just dab on a bit of concealer to cover up any blemishes or redness and my concealer of choice is by far NYX’s HD Photogenic Concealer Wand in Porcelain.

The NYX concealer wand is a true drugstore gem that rivals every high end concealer I’ve tried. It is a beautiful lightweight formula that comes in 11 shades including a green, purple and yellow for colour correcting. The lightest shade in the range is a perfect match for my skin while still being fair enough to use under the eyes. It has no yellow tones, something that is difficult for me to find but other shades in the collection do come with pink, yellow or blue undertones, so there is a shade for everyone. The formula is incredibly light on the skin but also richly concentrated. The doe foot applicator makes for precise application that can then be blended out quickly and smoothly. The coverage is light to medium but can easily be built up without ever feeling heavy or cakey. NYX also makes concealer jars that are a bit more on the full coverage side while retaining a similar formula. Another lovely bit is that both concealers are Talc and Paraben free!

I truly think that NYX’s HD Photogenic Concealer Wand is the best concealer you can pick up at the drugstore and I often prefer it over my higher end options. The shade range is fantastic and something you don’t often find and the formula is literally amazing. If you have not tried this concealer, you need to!

The NYX HD Photogenic Concealer Wand retails for $5 US and you can buy it at Rexall, Target and online at nyx.cosmetics.com , cherryculture.com and beautyjoint.com
