Following up on my last ‘Style Saturday’ post – the Spring Edit – I wanted to showcase my favourite pieces for transitioning into Spring. It’s a tricky time here in Canada, for most of April it is cold and constantly raining. Once May comes around, flowers start to pop up and the sun will finally shine. To bridge the weather gap I like to stick with versatile pieces that can be layered easily and of course my favourite wool coat (post here) for the cooler days.
J Crew Pixie Pants: my go-to pant that works with every outfit. Simple black legging like material that looks like a pant and it sucks everything in. Seriously comfortable.
Long Sleeved Tops: whether it’s a blouse or a lightweight knit, a long sleeve top is incredibly versatile. They provide a bit more warmth but are still light enough for random temperature changes.
Maxi Dress: my favourite transition piece that can be more a million different ways. You can belt it or layer it, dress it up or dress it down. I never run out of outfits to make with this basic.
The Cardigan: a must have layering piece that every girls owns. They come in a bunch of different designs and fabrics but they are all perfect for throwing over a dress or cami.
The Leather Jacket: my favourite way to finish off an outfit – I try to wear it ALL year long. It goes with everything and has the ability to change a look completely.
The Boot: spring means rain so to protect my toesies I need a good boot. Riding boots, over the knee or ankle height, I’ll take them all.
The Cross Body Bag: time to put away your giant totes stuffed with mittens and bring out the lighter, smaller bags. the medium size cross body is my favourite for how easy it is to throw over my shoulder.
