Even though Spring is just around the corner – well in theory, it’s currently a blizzard outside – I wanted to mention my favourite piece of winter weather clothing while I can.
Winter is such a depressing time – at least for me – in the outfit department. I constantly feel like I am always wearing the same cosy sweater and leggings topped with a big chunky scarf. And honestly it’s true, my love of fashion during spring and fall disappears into a need to stay warm. Plus, who cares what your outfit looks like when you are just hiding beneath a big parka. So while I do have that big marshmallow parka, I also have this beauty that I wear most of fall and then try to wear as often as I can during the snowy months.
I purchased this beauty about 3 years ago at Zara and it’s still my absolute favourite winter coat I’ve ever had – and I have a habit of buying a lot then hating them. It’s pretty much unheard of that I will keep a coat for more than one season, I just get bored. So it’s no small feat that I always turn back to this stunner.
It is a gorgeous wool herringbone in a cream and camel mix that works really well at brightening up my otherwise dreary winter complexion. The coat itself weighs a ton but that’s how you know it is going to last and is well made. The wool keeps me ridiculously warm and the big cowl is amazing for wrapping around your neck or you can flip it over into a massive hood. One of my favourite bits about this coat is the asymmetrical zipper, it zips diagonally so it adds a bit of interest to something will a boring purpose. I also love the stitching on the coat that adds in definition and shape to the body, along with the super long belt. I’ve included a little group of photos of the details on the coat because it really is beautifully made.
Oh and of course, here is the customary picture of me wearing the coat. (I don’t often like to take pictures of myself, so be nice… please. )
