Stay Put Makeup | L'Oreal Infallible Total Cover Collection | Base Product Review & Full Foundation Swatches

Stay Put Makeup | L'Oreal Infallible Total Cover Collection | Base Product Review & Full Foundation Swatches

Hey Beauties!

We all want the same things when it comes to our makeup - great performance. No matter what you want in terms of coverage, colour, or formula at the end of the day, we want it to still be on our face. That is why I am a massive fan of the Infallible collection from L'Oreal Paris

The Infallible range features two of my absolute favourite foundations (pro matte review), a fantastic powder, a setting spray, and a beautiful range of matte glosses (review). Now, L'Oreal has decided to expand the range to feature a whole new set of incredible infallible products. There is now a new foundation, a concealer palette, a corrector palette, a blush palette, liquid eyeliners, liquid eye and lip pigments and beauty sponges!

Everything you have dreamed and hoped for is now available in the signature Infallible formula that stays all day and withstands water, sweat, exercise, smudging and transfer. So no matter what your day throws at you, the Infallible Total Cover Collection has you covered.

Infallible Total Cover Foundation

The newest addition to the Infallible foundation line up is the new Total Cover Foundation (1oz - $12.99 USD/$19.99 CAD). Designed to be the missing piece in the collection, the Total Cover foundation is meant to be the perfect middle point between the Pro Matte and the Pro Glow formulas. It is described as a 24 hour, ultra-full coverage foundation with a weightless feel and a natural satin finish.

The highly pigmented formula comes in 12 shades and is said to instantly cover dark spots, blemishes, scars, and hyperpigmentation almost to the point of eliminating the need for a concealer. It is said to give a flawless finish with ultimate coverage, a seamless appearance, and a ultra-lightweight feel.

Shades 301 - 312

My Thoughts

Being such a massive fan of the other Infallible foundations, I needed to give this line a really thorough testing. After trying this foundation combined with different products, applied in different ways and worn through various activities I have settled on my thoughts.

The Total Cover Foundation is a really fantastic addition to the range, it does indeed offer an incredible amount of coverage that gives you an airbrushed, seamless finish. It is not pigmented enough that you will look cakey and it will not cover something like a tattoo when applied on its own. It looks very thick when it comes out of the tube but it actually has a very fluffy, thin, lightweight texture that glides on and melts into the skin.

Even though it offers high coverage, it does not look fake or like you are wearing a lot of makeup. It actually becomes like a second skin. A tiny bit goes a very long way and it dries in seconds so it is key to use small amounts and work in small sections.

It sets to a very comfortable natural but almost matte finish and while it does not settle into pores or accentuate fine lines, it does attach itself to dry spots. If you have very dry skin or are prone to dry patches, it is not the foundation for you.

Total Cover Concealing & Correcting Palettes

Along with the foundations, L'Oreal released two concealer based palettes - the Pro Colour Correcting Kit and the Concealing & Contouring Kit ($16.99 USD/$19.99 CAD)

The Colour Correcting Kit comes with 4 correcting concealers (green, purple, yellow, peach) and a sponge. The combination of colours creates the perfect palette for the everyday girl to correct her own imperfections, neutralize discolouration, hide dark circles, and disguise acne.

The Concealing & Contouring Kit comes with 4 neutral toned shades to help conceal and create depth and dimension through cream contouring. The neutral tones make it perfect for learning how to contour using cream which gives a more natural finish.

Both palettes have a very similar formula, the concealers are thin yet very creamy and blend flawlessly into the skin. They are really nicely pigmented and offer the perfect amount of coverage when combined with the foundation.

Final Thoughts

I really enjoyed the new additions to the Infallible Collection and it's really exciting to see my favourite affordable makeup range expanding. Keep your eyes peeled for reviews of the rest of the collection soon!

On My Radar | 2 Double Duty Beauty Brands I'm Dying To Try | Pixi & Glossier

On My Radar | 2 Double Duty Beauty Brands I'm Dying To Try | Pixi & Glossier | labellesirene.ca

Hey Beauties!

Working in the beauty community gives you a front row seat to the ever-changing roster of new products, brands, and trends that pop up on the scene. To stay on top of things, it's important to keep note of the products that either catch your eye or spark a mad frenzy.

I have a list that does just that - it lists each and every product that comes across my desk (or Instagram dashboard) so that I can make sure to cover the hottest topics and trends.

Two brands that seem to keep making waves and taking names are Pixi Beauty and Glossier. They have each made countless appearances on my list but yet I haven't had the chance to explore what they have to offer! So I decided it was time to round up my must-try products from each brand and of course, ask for your suggestions and opinions on what to try first!

Pixi Beauty

The first brand on my radar is Pixi Beauty, the brainchild of Petra Strand, a makeup artist and skincare maven with over 20 years of experience. Pixi was started in a small boutique in London England with Petra on the brink of a movement in which she wanted to bring out the natural beauty in all women. Her goal was to help them embrace their own skin by using products that made them look like themselves only better.

Petra created a brand that offers both skincare and cosmetics all of which are made from pure, skin-loving ingredients to help work with the skin you were given. All Pixi products are created to be multitasking, flaw-fixing, and youth-enhancing for a naturally radiant and rested look that can be easily achieved by women on the go.

Pixi is known for their signature green packaging and their infamous Glow Tonic that has taken the skincare world by storm and now that they have just entered Canada, I am keeping my eyes peeled for that green display! When I do finally track them down, I am dying to try these products -

Glow Tonic ($10 USD/$13 CAD) - an exfoliating, alcohol-free toner for smoother, brighter, clearer skin. Contains 5% glycolic acid, aloe vera, ginseng, and botanical extracts.

Beauty Sleep Cream ($24 USD/$32 CAD) - a nourishing night treatment to comfort and soothe skin. A fast absorbing, nutrient-rich essential to protect, nourish, and hydrate while you sleep. Contains mango butter, and oils of lemon, lavender, and bergamot.

Glowtion Day Dew ($22 USD/$30 CAD) - a lightweight, radiance boosting moisturizer that soothes while blurring imperfections and giving a lit from within glow. Lavender Oil calms while Kaolin purifies and Mica brightens.

Rose Oil Blend ($24 USD/$32 CAD) - a luxe, ultra-nourishing oil that rejuvenates, restores and renews skin's luminosity. Includes a botanical blend of youth preserving oils that help improve skin's elasticity, texture, and luminosity (sweet almond, rosehip, jojoba, pom seed, and rose geranium).

Overnight Glow Serum ($24 USD/$32 CAD) - a concentrated exfoliating gel that helps to reveal a more even and radiant skin tone overnight. 10% glycolic acid and arginine help reduce the appearance of fine lines and fade sun spots, cucumber, and aloe vera calm, and Vitamins A, C, E nourish.

Nourishing Cleansing Balm ($20 USD/$27 CAD) - a gentle cleansing balm that removes all traces of makeup as it nourishes. Rich balm to oil formula melts away makeup and impurities while also deep cleaning, plumping and soothing. Contains sweet almond oil, shea butter, and Vitamin E.

Liplift Max in Petal Ice ($14 USD/$20 CAD) - a hydrating, peptide-infused lip plumping gloss that nourishes as it enhances. Aloe vera heals, jojoba hydrates and chamomile soothes.

Natural Contour Powder ($20 USD/$27 CAD) - a buildable matte powder designed to effortlessly contour, sculpt and define. Packed with peptides, vitamins, aloe vera, super fruit and coffee extract.

Glossier

The second brand that has been giving me serious vibes is Glossier. Started by the famous beauty website Into The Gloss and their team of beauty editors who have tried and tested just about everything. The Glossier girls aimed to create dream everyday products that didn't yet exist and they wanted to make sure they actually worked. Glossier is all about beauty in real life, products that girls actually need on a day to day basis, products that form the backbone to your beauty routine.

Glossier is not yet available in Canada and their website sadly does not ship outside of the USA, but that certainly doesn't stop me from dreaming about what I would buy first!

Priming Moisturizer Rich ($35 USD) - a dense cream for nourishing, comforting hydration. It is rich in ceramides and fatty acids that help to reinforce the skin's barrier and lock in moisture. Contains a non-greasy blend of shea and murumuru butter for a lavish experience.

Milky Jelly Cleanser ($18 USD) - the ultimate daily face wash, a ph balanced creamy gel formula made with a blend of 5 skin conditioners to leave your face feeling healthy and soft but never tight. The main cleansing agent Poloxamer is used in contact lens solution so it is gentle enough to use on eyes. Also contains rosewater, aquaxyl, and pro vitamin B5.

Balm Dotcom ($12 USD) - a universal, hydrating skin salve that is packed with antioxidants and natural emollients to nourish and repair ultra-dry, irritated skin. The dense wax texture stays puts to seal in moisture and the formula contains lanolin, beeswax, castor seed oil, cupuaou fruit extract, rice bran and rosemary leaf.

Super Glow ($28 USD) - an intense Vitamin C and magnesium serum for that lit from within, well rested look. Part of the Supers Squad, a trio of concentrated serums designed to refill skin's deficiencies, Super Glow evens skin tone, creates a light reflective complexion, brightens, smooths, and reduces dark spots.

Perfecting Skin Tint ($26 USD) - a super sheer, thin base that makes getting ready as simple as throwing on moisturizer. This tint evens out discolouration and leaves your face looking toned, smooth, and dewy. Comes in 5 shades.

Haloscope ($22 USD) - the first true dew effect highlighter. The dual delivery formula features an outer halo that is infused with genuine crystal extracts and a solid oil core of vitamin-rich moisturizers that give a hydrated, dewy glow. Comes in 3 shades.

Boy Brow ($16 USD) - an all-in-one brow fluffer, filler, and shaper that thickens and grooms. The creamy wax formula is inspired by hair pomade for a soft, flexible hold that doesn't stiffen or flake. Comes in 3 shades and clear.

Stretch Concealer ($18 USD) - a new type of concealer that covers everything from dark circles to redness. It is formulated with elastic micro-waxes that move with the skin instead of caking up on top of it and nourishing oils that give skin a dewy, glowing finish.

Which brands or products are on your radar? Do you have any suggestions for what I should try from Pixi or Glossier? I'd love to hear them!

Birthday Bubbles | Celebrating 26 Years At Toast Wine Bar | Local Loves #Hamont

Birthday Bubbles | Celebrating 26 Years At Toast Wine Bar | Local Loves #Hamont | labellesirene.ca

Hey Beauties!

Happy March! I made the decision to take the last week or so away from the blog in order to really be present in my life. It was not only my birthday but also my sister's and one of my closest friend's. With so many wonderful occasions come dinners, parties, and good old family time and I really wanted to be present and enjoy that time.

So now I'm back feeling loved, refreshed and oh so thankful! I truly feel like this is going to be a benchmark year in my life and I believe that God has great plans for me in this coming season.

Thank you SO very much to everyone who took the time to say happy birthday on social media and my previous posts. Your words and sweet wishes, mean so much to me! Now onto the post!

To kick off the birthday celebrations, my bridal squad and I stopped by one of my favourite spots in Hamilton - Toast Wine Bar

Toast is a girl's dream come true and a real gem in this city. It is a sophisticated getaway, settled in the middle of too many bars and breweries, where you can grab a glass of wine and a bite to eat at any time of day.

Residing in the old Treble Hall Music Building on the corner of King and John, Toast showcases the beauty and the history of their home while adding touches of their own personality.

Started by two friends, Toast is the perfect place to catch up with the girls, go on a date, host a party, or even celebrate after a long day at work. The space is intimate, cozy and almost sensual with sleek accents, vintage decor and a candle on each table. Grab a seat at the bar or find a corner booth for a late night chat, once you sit down you won't want to leave.

The girls and I love nothing more than catching up over a glass of wine and a few yummy bites so Toast is perfection. They offer something for everyone with a variety of mixed cocktails and an extensive collection of champagne and wines that can be ordered by the glass, the bottle or the flight ( a tasting platter of sorts).

They also have an incredible menu that has just been expanded to include lunch. As the name suggests, they offer an array of delicious toast based dishes all of which can be enjoyed in a bite or two. You can also enjoy small salads, charcuterie, sandwiches and starters such as warm olives and nuts. Everything is seasonal and locally sourced so you never know what you might be able to enjoy!

The girls and I decided to each get a glass of wine, a mimosa and a few bites to share! Everything was absolutely delicious and it was the perfect way to celebrate a new year with the best of friends.

A huge thank you to my favourite girl and photographer Heather for these gorgeous shots.
