Orange Obsession | Neon Nails For Spring With Ceramic Glaze | Review & Swatches

Orange Obsession | Neon Nails For Spring With Ceramic Glaze & Matching Lips | Review & Swatches | labellesirene.ca

Hey Beauties!

Long time no talk! So sorry I've been a bit MIA but I have been working on so many exciting little projects that needed my full attention. I appreciate your patience more than you know!

If you have been following my Instagram lately then you may have noticed that I am pretty much obsessed with the colour orange. Over the past few weeks I have posted photo after photo of my neon nails and matching lips in bright orange hues. It has quickly become my signature and I can't seem to do my makeup without a hint of orange in one spot or another.

Since I have fallen so hard for such a bold pop of colour - even though I was slightly intimidated at first - I thought I should share my favourite orange nail polishes and my go to orange lipstick.

Orange Obsession | Neon Nails For Spring With Ceramic Glaze & Matching Lips | Review & Swatches | labellesirene.ca

I have a feeling that orange nails are going to be a massive trend for Spring and Summer, the bright, neon shade has been such a hit with every single person I have come into contact with lately. I have been stopped on the street and asked over and over again what shade I've been wearing so I think it's going to be huge.

My favourite shades are from Ceramic Glaze (of course), a sister brand to China Glaze that offers incredible quality polishes in an array of vibrant, unique shades at an awesome price point.

The polishes themselves are pretty incredible, they have amazing lasting power and are practically chip proof.

Ceramic Glaze has four gorgeous shades of orange in their core collection and they range from a soft pastel peach to a bright highlighter orange.

My personal favourite is Sunset Beach (a neon red orange with a matte finish), the other three shades are Solar Radiance (a neon true orange with a matte finish), Belle Ami (a true peach with a cream finish), and I'm On Island Time (a neon pinky peach with a matte finish).

(L-R I'm On Island Time, Belle Ami, Sunset Beach, Solar Radiance)

As I mentioned, I have been obsessed with matching my lipstick to my nails and my favourite way to do that is with the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Venezia or the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Spicy

You can find Ceramic Glaze at Shoppers Drug Mart for $7.99 CAD.

What bright shade are you loving right now?

Makeup Royalty | Anastasia Beverly Hills Single Eyeshadows | Review & Swatches

Makeup Royalty | Anastasia Beverly Hills Single Eyeshadows | Review & Swatches | labellesirene.ca

Hey Beauties!

I think we all have those beauty brands that spark the excitement in our makeup addict hearts, the brands that we follow religiously and collect without fail. Personally, I have quite a few "ride or die" brands but one that has skyrocketed right to the top of the list is Anastasia Beverly Hills.

Anastasia Beverly Hills (ABH) jumped onto my radar in late 2014 when word of their brow pencils and contour palettes (the first of it's kind!) started to take over the Youtube universe. My makeup idols like Jaclyn Hill started preaching the praises of this newer brand and I was all over it, the only problem was ABH was no where to be found in Canada and the international shipping was just too hard to swallow.

My prayers for a Canadian retailer were finally answered when just last month Sephora started to stock all of the ABH a girl could ask for.

I immediately jumped on the liquid lipsticks (review coming soon) and then the second the infamous Anastasia eyeshadows were released, I placed a massive order.

Makeup Royalty | Anastasia Beverly Hills Single Eyeshadows | Review & Swatches | labellesirene.ca

While Anastasia is known for its eyeshadow palettes that tend to sell out in days, they also have an incredible range of single eyeshadows that rival other brands like MAC and Makeup Geek.

The Details

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Single Shadows retail for $16 CAD/$12 USD and come in 0.059oz(1.7g) individual refill pans that can be organized in custom storage systems like Z Palettes or even pre-made palettes from Anastasia.

There are 84 shades in an incredible range from neutral crease colors and basics to vibrant, bold pops of color and shimmer. The shades are divided into 8 formulations, each with their own unique textures and abilities. They are described as -

Ultra Matte - a blendable suede-like formula that provides a smooth, opaque matte finish
Velvet - a weightless formula with a buttery texture and soft sheen
Satin - a luminous formula that provides decadent color with a silk-like finish
Shimmer - a light-reflective, finely-milled formula that provides a lustrous finish
Sparkle - a smooth formula with light-reflecting particles that provide a dazzling finish
Metallic - a rich, velvety formula that provides a high shine finish
Titanium - a highly pigmented metallic shadow with a smooth texture and intense multi-dimensional shimmer
Duo-Chrome - a high intensity formula with color shifting, prismatic iridescence

The Haul & Swatches

I did some pretty extensive research before making my purchase and after looking up swatches for a few hours I had a list a mile long but I narrowed it down to 17 shades. The shades I picked up are (L-R) -

Birkin - an ultra-matte warm beige mauve
Fawn - an ultra-matte soft, neutral olive
Burnt Orange Matte - an ultra-matte pastel pink
Sienna - an ultra-matte earthy brown
Fudge - an ultra-matte rich warm brown

Babycakes - an ultra-matte pastel pink
Buon Fresco - an ultra-matte antique lavender
Dusty Rose - a velvet dusty lilac
Macaroon - a titanium pastel lavender
Pink Champagne - a titanium pinky beige shimmer

Chocolate Crumble - a titanium smoky amethyst
Chiffon - a titanium antique gold
Metal - a titanium silver gold

Blushing - a duo-chrome rosy lilac
Peach Sorbet - a metallic rose champagne

Emerald - a metallic rich forest green
Prussian Blue - a titanium reflective peacock blue

Thoughts

Can we just take a second to appreciate how stunning those shadows are? Every single one of the shadows I purchased is absolutely beautiful. They are richly pigmented and have fantastic opacity in one swipe. The mattes are incredibly smooth, buttery and soft, they blend seamlessly in seconds and practically do all of the work for you. The shimmer and metallic shades, especially the newest releases, are ultra-creamy and smooth with a beautiful foiled finish.

I could not be happier with my ABH shadows, they far exceeded my expectations and I can only see my collection growing. I really love that ABH is so dedicated to creating incredible products with incredible formulas and innovations. It means so much to me as a consumer and a makeup lover that they hold themselves to such high standards and they are constantly evolving, reformulating and improving.

You can purchase Anastasia Beverly Hills Shadows and other products at Sephora, Ulta, Macy's and ABH as well as in 25 different countries.

Dandelion Dreams | Benefit Cosmetics Dandelion Dew & Shy Beam | Review & Swatches

Dandelion Dreams | Benefit Cosmetics Dandelion Dew & Shy Beam | Review & Swatches | labellesirene.ca

Hey Beauties!

Spring is right around the corner - I say that because it's still snowing here but I know it's coming eventually - and I don't know about you but I am busting at the seams to shake up my makeup routine for more spring/summer friendly products.

It's time to pack away the neutrals and bring out the bright pops of colour, switch the matte powder products for ones with luminosity and cream products that give you a dewy glow.

With that being said, one of my ALL TIME favourite spring blushes is Benefit Cosmetics' Dandelion Boxed Powder. It is the perfect bright baby pink that instantly brightens up your complexion, taking you from dull and flat to radiant and rosy.

So I'm sure you could imagine how excited I got when I saw a sneak peek of Benefit's newest Dandelion products - an extension of the original line - and that excitement grew ten fold when I got them in my mailbox.

Dandelion Dreams | Benefit Cosmetics Dandelion Dew & Shy Beam | Review & Swatches | labellesirene.ca

The newest additions to the Dandelion range are two spring ready liquids inspired by the original brightening face powder. They take the gorgeous delicate baby pink radiance of the original blush and bring it to a whole new level of gorgeous.

The Dandelion Dew retails for $36 CAD/$28 USD and comes in an absolutely breathtaking metallic mint green bottle with pink accents and an Art Deco vibe. It contains 1 fluid ounce or 30 ml of a gorgeous liquid blush that is dispensed via a pump. Yay!

Dandelion Dreams | Benefit Cosmetics Dandelion Dew & Shy Beam | Review & Swatches | labellesirene.ca

Dandelion Dew is a moussey liquid with a lighter than air texture and a beautiful dewy pink glow. Straight out of the pump you can see how radiant and delicate the Dandelion Dew really is. The ultra creamy formula has a light, sweet scent and is so pigmented that one pump is more than enough for both cheeks.

The mousse is an absolute breeze to apply and melts seamlessly into the skin when you simply dab onto the cheeks and blend using a beauty blender. This method will give you a gorgeous second skin finish that looks perfectly blended while keeping the product exactly where you want it.

One layer is just enough for me but it can be built up to be even more intense and the forgiving formula gives you time to work with it but once it sets it won't be moving. You can wear it in a number of ways including on its own over makeup, all alone as a pop of colour or layered with the original powder for an extra punch.

The lit from within glow and healthy pink radiance it gives is beyond words gorgeous and the formula is just as fantastic. I love that unlike some cream products, Dandelion Dew is so easy to apply and blend that you just can't make a mistake. It also lasts an impressively long time at 7 hours before fading.

Dandelion Dreams | Benefit Cosmetics Dandelion Dew & Shy Beam | Review & Swatches | labellesirene.ca
(one pump split in two and one side blended)

The Dandelion Shy Beam (o.33 fl oz) retails for $34 CAD/ $26 USD and comes in a jazzed up metallic blush bottle similar to the original High Beam Illuminator - but way cuter! It is a one of a kind matte liquid highlighter that can be used in a million different ways.

Dandelion Dreams | Benefit Cosmetics Dandelion Dew & Shy Beam | Review & Swatches | labellesirene.ca

Dandelion Shy Beam is a gorgeous highlighting liquid without any shimmer or shine to give a soft, natural looking radiance for those girls (or looks) that require a more demure approach. The light nude pink shade offers the same brightening pink of the Dandelion range but with a much softer, gentler result.

Shy Beam is a thicker liquid that feels like the consistency of a thin concealer. It can be applied anywhere on the face using the small brush under the bottle cap and quickly blended out using your fingers or a sponge.

It delivers a lovely brightening effect and subtle sheen to whatever part of the face you apply it and helps to attract light and attention to that area. It is perfect for use in contouring because it gives a subtle concealing effect while also brightening and highlighting the high points of the face.

You can apply it along your cheekbones, nose, brows, lips and chin to bring the dimensions of your face to life  or you can apply it under the eyes to color correct against dullness and dark shadows. (for more on color correcting check out this Color Correcting 101 post)

Dandelion Dreams | Benefit Cosmetics Dandelion Dew & Shy Beam | Review & Swatches | labellesirene.ca
(two lines, one blended the other not)

I love how versatile and unique the Dandelion Shy Beam is, it is a one of a kind product that might be the answer to highlighting for people who are scared of too much glow. If you have oilier skin but still want to give highlighting and contouring a try then Shy Beam would be a great option. The light nude pink shade is better suited for light to medium skin tones but can be used on my fair skin.

I am absolutely in love with both of the new additions to the Dandelion range from Benefit Cosmetics, especially the Dandelion Dew. I love how Benefit is taking their iconic best selling products and using them as inspiration to create new, innovative sisters.

You can purchase the new Dandelion products from Sephora, Ulta, Beauty Boutique and Benefit

Blinking Beauty | Discovering The World Of Blinc. Inc. | New At Sephora | Review

Blinking Beauty | Discovering The World Of Blinc. Inc. | New At Sephora | Review | labellesirene.ca

Hey Beauties!

I think we have all had those nights when we're standing in front of the mirror, at the end of a long day, taking off our makeup and our mascara is holding on for dear life. We get those tell-tale little black spidery lashes and those pesky raccoon eyes from our eyeliner that just might be too "long lasting".

I have a few ride or die formulas that I am willing to break out the heavy duty makeup remover over but let's face it, we all want a easier option. A solution that closes the gap in eye makeup between incredible hold and how easy it is to remove.

This is where Blinc comes into play. Blinc Inc. is a company that specializes in "life proof" cosmetics, waterproof products that will give you the drama and stay put hold while also being incredibly easy to remove at the end of the day.

Blinc's products cater to the fed up glasses/contact wearers, the people with active lifestyles, allergies or sensitive eyes and just the people who want their makeup to work with them! Blinc has come up with an exclusive technology that makes removal easy as pie but more on that later!

Blinking Beauty | Discovering The World Of Blinc. Inc. | New At Sephora | Review | labellesirene.ca

Blinc carries an extensive line of products, all of which revolve around the eyes and come housed in adorable color coded tins.  Their line features a number of mascaras, primers, and eyeliners both liquid and pencil.

Blinc kindly sent me their Discovery Collection ($44 for all 4 products) which features 4 miniature versions of their best-selling products including the Mascara Amplified, Eyebrow Mouse, Eyeshadow Primer and Eyeliner Pencil.

I have been testing these products for about two weeks now and I can't wait any longer to share my thoughts! One of the products is even a new holy grail for me.

Blinking Beauty | Discovering The World Of Blinc. Inc. | New At Sephora | Review | labellesirene.ca

The Blinc Eyeliner Pencil retails for $22 USD/ $28CAD and comes in 8 shades varying from neutrals like black, brown, nude and white to vibrant colors like purple and emerald green. It is a traditional wooden pencil that requires sharpening but the formula inside is anything but traditional.

The eyeliner has a fantastic creamy formula that glides on effortlessly in a super smooth stroke. It is so smooth that there is literally no tugging or struggling to get a smooth line. Once on it is easy to smudge or blend away the line for a smokey finish without disturbing the pigment too much but once it sets it won't be going anywhere.

This liner has superior staying power that is truly waterproof, smudge proof and fade proof. My watery eye were no match for this stuff and it was one of the first products to stay put in my waterline ALL day long.

Blinking Beauty | Discovering The World Of Blinc. Inc. | New At Sephora | Review | labellesirene.ca

The Blinc Eyeshadow Primer retails for $26 USD/$32 CAD and comes in two shades - light tone and flesh tone. It is an incredible primer that promises a crease proof canvas for all shadow formulas and 12hr hold. It also contains anti-aging benefits that are meant to hydrate and decrease the appearance of fine lines.

It has a thinner, creamy texture that applies smoothly with a slight tackiness that sets to a semi-matte powdery finish. That tackiness makes this primer amazing for use with looser shadows, pigments and glitters. Those products stick much better to a sticky base than a matte one and this causes much less fallout.

The tinted base is amazing for concealing imperfections and evening out discolouration on the lids. The shade light is a gorgeous light cream that matches my skin tone beautifully and really helps brighten up the eye area. It is the only eye primer I have ever found that is anywhere close to my natural skin tone and I really love the effect it has.

Blinking Beauty | Discovering The World Of Blinc. Inc. | New At Sephora | Review | labellesirene.ca

The Eyeshadow Primer does an absolutely incredible job of evening out my eyelids for shadow application. It creates a smooth canvas that is perfectly primed to hold onto the shadow for a full 12 hours, and it really does last that long.

Blinking Beauty | Discovering The World Of Blinc. Inc. | New At Sephora | Review | labellesirene.ca

The Blinc Eyebrow Mousse retails for $24 USD/$30 CAD and comes in 8 versatile shades as well as a clear version. It is described as "nourishing eyebrow makeup" but it is essentially a really fantastic tinted eyebrow gel.

It is a thick mousse product that helps to achieve naturally polished looking eyebrows in a pinch. The tinted base helps shape, tint and fill in the hairs while securing them in place for all day wear. It fills in any sparse areas really well but never causes the brows to look fake or overdone.

Once set, it does not leave the hairs clumped together nor stiff and crunchy but it does keep them in place all day long. The water resistant formula will hold it's own through sweaty workouts and splashes of water with no fading or flaking.

Blinking Beauty | Discovering The World Of Blinc. Inc. | New At Sephora | Review | labellesirene.ca

The Blinc Mascara Amplified is the amped up version of the original Blinc Mascara, a products that took almost a decade to develop. It retails for $24 USD/$30 CAD and comes in both black and brown.

The entire range of Blinc products was inspired by their original mascara which was the first tubing mascara in production. Essentially, instead of coating your lashes in product, the Blinc mascara deposits a tube of product around the lash that covers and builds on the lash but does not adhere as harshly as a traditional mascara. A tubing mascara is easily removed with a little water and some gentle friction and you will see the small tubes slide right off.

The Mascara Amplified provides buildable volume and length and a great deep coat of black with it's thick bristle wand. It is the perfect daily mascara that gives you a well rounded lift with volume and plenty of length but that is also kind to your lashes over the day to day.

Blinking Beauty | Discovering The World Of Blinc. Inc. | New At Sephora | Review | labellesirene.ca

All of Blinc's products, including the mascara, are formulated with their incredible waterproof technology that makes the products practically unstoppable. None of the products can be removed by water or friction alone. Tears, sweat, a shower, rubbing, or even sleeping in your makeup will have absolutely no effect on them but the combination of a water and a bit of gentle friction will make them slide right off.

This means that you can pretty much anything in Blinc's products and you will look flawless till the very end. These products only smudge, fade or come off when you want them to and not one second before.

I have really fallen in love with Blinc and their incredible products that seem to defy all typical makeup conundrums. I am so impressed by the way their products really do live up to their promises and I cannot recommend them enough.

Blinc Inc. is now available at Sephora and Blinc's website.

A Sight to See | Affordable Eyewear With Firmoo Optical | Review

A Sight to See | Affordable Eyewear With Firmoo Optical | Review

Hey Beauties!

I don't know about you but when I was a kid, it was more than uncool to the be the one with glasses. We were taught at an early age that people with glasses were nerdy and that mentality has carried through with us as we've grown up but I am here to say no more! It's time to change that stigma and show the world that glasses are chic, modern, sophisticated and now affordable!

I have worn glasses for almost 20 years, I have gone through just about every shape, style and bad choice there is - and there have been many! So I think it's safe to say that I know my glasses. I know what makes glasses work for me, what quality means and how much a good pair can cost.

A Sight to See | Affordable Eyewear With Firmoo Optical | Review

So when I caught wind of a company that provides full glasses and lenses for a fraction of the average cost, I was skeptical but curious. Low and behold, that company would reach out to me to see if I wanted to give their program a try and I jumped at the opportunity.

Firmoo Optical is an online retailer that sells high quality frames, lenses and accessories for both men and women at ridiculously affordable prices.

They source their products from manufacturers and wholesalers in Asia and combined with the lower cost of production in Asia, they are able to offer the same glasses you would get here at a much better price.

A Sight to See | Affordable Eyewear With Firmoo Optical | Review

Their website offers hundreds of styles in prescription, bifocal, progressive, reading, computer (blue light blocking), sports, sunglasses and even non prescription frames.

They offer a set range of frames as well as limited edition frames that come and go. There are new styles available every day and all frames are divided by style and popularity.
They have a massive range of styles from classic and sophisticated to modern and chic. There is a huge selection of trendy, fashionable frames that you won't find elsewhere.

Most frames start between $20 - $30 and that cost includes a standard package with a basic lense and an anti-scratch coating. It gives you the option to upgrade to various lense thicknesses as well as tints and various coatings such as anti-glare, anti-reflective, UV, waterproof and fingerprint proof.

I went with the standard package and all together with free shipping, my glasses cost less than $40.

A Sight to See | Affordable Eyewear With Firmoo Optical | Review

I went with these gorgeous mixed material glasses made from acrylic and metal in black and clear. They came packaged really well in a bubble wrap envelope with a case that included a cleaning cloth and a repair kit.

They arrived in under two weeks and Firmoo was fantastic with keeping me updated on their whereabouts and expected delivery date.

I really loved how chic and unique these frames were, they are unlike anything else I have seen before. When I received them, I fell even more in love!

The quality is so much more than I expected. They feel like luxurious frames from a high end retailer and they make me look like a million bucks.

A Sight to See | Affordable Eyewear With Firmoo Optical | Review

I am so incredibly happy with my glasses from Firmoo and they have become my absolute favourites over my much more expensive options. I love how lightweight yet sturdy they are and how good they feel on.

I was so impressed by Firmoo, they were fast, efficient and really personable. I love that they offer so many options and fashionable styles and at such incredible prices.

I highly recommend Firmoo for anyone looking for a new pair of glasses or even sunglasses!

Healthy Hydrated Hair For Spring With Pantene Expert | My Haircare Routine & Essentials | #BestPantene

Healthy Hydrated Hair For Spring With Pantene Expert | My Haircare Routine & Essentials | labellesirene.ca

Hey Beauties!

For as long as I can remember, my hair has been the main focal point of most conversations I have. Everyone I meet has questions and comments about my mop of red hair and people will stop me on the street to ask about my signature locks.

I remember being so uncomfortable with my hair as a child, with such vibrant locks I always felt out of place and like the centre of attention. I was the only one with red hair in my universe so the only people I could relate to were The Little Mermaid and Pippi Longstocking.

I learned pretty early on that if people were going to pay SO much attention to my hair then I needed to rock that mop and take the absolute best care of it that I could. To make sure my locks were healthy, happy and voluminous I started using Pantene and I have never stopped.

I have been a loyal user of Pantene products since I was around 12 years old, I vividly remember seeing commercials about the Pro-V formula that went straight down to the roots and being so convinced that Pantene must be the best of the best.

Since then I have used just about every variation of Pantene formulas from ones that focused on hydration, strength, volume and even making my wavy hair straighter. No matter which one I used, I always felt like my hair was never happier than it was on the Pantene regime.

Healthy Hydrated Hair For Spring With Pantene Expert | My Haircare Routine & Essentials | labellesirene.caFast forward 14 years and my shower is still full of Pantene products but just as I have grown up so have they and now they are shaking up the haircare market with their new Pantene Expert Collection - featuring the most concentrated Pro-V formula on the market.

The Pantene Expert Collection brings the best of what Pantene is known for and gives it a straight forward and modern twist. The collection is broken down into 5 separate ranges, each with their own intention but without all of the excess and fuss and muss that complicates haircare. It is Pantene's most awarded collection and it was created alongside top beauty experts - hence the name.

These ranges feature just two simple products (a shampoo and a conditioner) that provide absolutely everything your hair could possibly need. There is -

Intense Smooth - Instantly tame frizz with proper nourishment for a smooth, silky finish while strengthening against damage. The micro-soothing conditioner locks in smoothness for sleek tresses from morning to night.

Intense Repair - Instantly rejuvenates damaged hair with a simple solution and ultra-silky lather that gently cleanses hair and removes signs of damage. The strengthening conditioner repairs breakage and split ends.

Intense ColorCare - Instantly enhances colour vibrancy with a specially designed formula that helps colour develop more intensely inside the hair fibre resulting in less fade and better colour concentration.

Age Defy - Instantly restores youthful vitality, protecting your hair from all signs of the natural aging process. Formulated with the Advanced Pro-V Molecular Technology, fragile hair is coated with a thin, protective layer to shield against the environment.

And my personal favourite - Intense Hydration

The Intense Hydration range instantly quenches thirsty hair with a shampoo that envelops each strand for an intensely hydrated feel. Paired with the ultra-creamy conditioner that revives chronically dry hair and submerges your locks in long-lasting moisture for soft, silky hair that looks healthy.

It is the absolute perfect range for my continually dry and damaged hair. The blast of moisture that this range provides keeps my hair feeling full of life and properly nourished. In place of dry strands and lacklustre texture, my hair is soft, smooth and shiny. It has bounce, volume and a pretty impressive flip.

The formula is a dream. It is so featherweight that my hair never feels weighed down or clogged up with product. A tiny bit goes a long way and it lathers easily leaving my hair feeling cleansed but not stripped. The best part is it smells like coconuts and the just washed feeling seems to last for days!

My head full of bright red locks has never been happier than it has using this new range. It has just the right combination of ingredients so that it cleans my hair while leaving it feeling healthier, happier and more hydrated. It has even made heat styling so much easier because my hair is happier to begin with!

Healthy Hydrated Hair For Spring With Pantene Expert | My Haircare Routine & Essentials | labellesirene.ca

Speaking of styling, the ONLY hairspray that I will use also belongs to Pantene. AirSpray is an alcohol free hairspray that feels more like a light spritz of water than a blast of aerosol in your face. It gives an incredible amount of hold that works even on my ridiculously stubborn hair that won't hold a single curl (until now) but it doesn't leave any sort of residue. Your hair is still soft, bouncy and totally touchable!

My almost lifelong relationship with Pantene just keeps getting better and better and it never lets me down. The new Expert Collection is just another step in the right direction to having the healthiest and happiest hair possible. I love that Pantene is trying to simplify the craziness that can be the haircare aisle by giving you the complete package in two simple steps.

If you are looking to shake up your haircare routine or you need a bit of a refresher then head out and pick up one of Pantene's new Expert ranges! They are available at your local retailer for $9.99.
