How To Find Your Perfect Palette | Tips & Tricks By Jaclyn Baker | Guest PostSaturday, January 23, 2016
I genuinely feel like it is so incredibly important to be social in a career that takes you out of the normal workplace. I run and edit my blog from my home and that means I don't get to chat with coworkers or take coffee breaks with friends so I have found that the key to keeping your sanity is to make friends with bloggers alike.
The beautiful Jaclyn of TheJaclynBaker.com has been such a fantastic supporter and become a great friend so I couldn't be happier to have her take over my blog for the day. Jaclyn is going to be sharing her tips & tricks for cleaning out your collection and narrowing down the perfect palette! Check it out!
If there is one thing I am not lacking in my makeup collection, it is palettes!
As I was looking at my palettes, it didn’t take me long to realize, I have way to many!
And you know what else, they are all pretty similar. What can I say, I have my taste and my shopping validates it.
I know I can’t be the only one.
For all of you subscribe to several beauty channels like I do, you know the feeling of being persuaded into checking out the newest palette.
Here’s the deal…
If you have multiple palettes that are almost the same, you are never going to go through them all.
It is proven that when we are faced with to many options, we end up choosing nothing!!
Makeup should not be stressful; in fact it should be the opposite.
I would rather invest in 1 “dream palette” than 5 average palettes.
But then we are faced with figuring out what palette is my dream palette?
I am going to tell you.
I want you to make a list of the top qualities you look for in a palette.
Here is my list.
- Reasonable cost
- Size of the products in the palette
- Size of the package
- Positive reviews
- Number of shades I like vs. ones I don’t like
- Brand reputation
Go down the list and re-arrange the list in order of your priority.
In order to make room for the new, we must get rid of the old.
- Pull all of your palettes out of your drawer.
- Get rid of all the palettes that contain less than half your priorities.
- Go to your local makeup store along with your list
- When picking out a palette ensure your newest purchase has AT LEAST 4 of your top priorities.
Voila, that is it!
This is what I want you to do…
