My Customized Skincare Routine with Paula's Choice Skincare

Hey Beauties!

Skincare is something that I have never really been able to figure out, I have tried a million different products and I have attempted to throw together my own little routine of sorts but I have never really had a true system. Over the last year or so I have put a lot more effort into taking care of my skin and establishing a routine.

I want to focus on using skincare that is made from really good ingredients and has amazing reviews and that's where Paula's Choice came in. Everything in the Paula's Choice range is cruelty free, fragrance free, dye and colorant free, non irritating and made in the USA.

Paula's Choice offers just about anything you could ever need when it comes to skincare, they have products for every possible concern and skin type. From acne to anti-aging, rosacea and everything in between, Paula's choice has a product or line for you. The great thing about PC is that you can customize the products to suit you and your lifestyle, you can pick and choose from the entire catalog or you can stick with a single range, it's completely up to you.

I was recently given the opportunity to create my own customized regime with Pretty In My Pocket - an amazing community and app of honest beauty reviews curated by real women - and I jumped at the chance. I had already been using a few PC products for over a month and I was so in love so I couldn't wait to try a few more.

Consultation

To start off, I had a consultation with a Paula's Choice Skin Care Expert over the phone - a free service that absolutely anyone can use to discover what products might work best for them. I had a great chat with my consultant and we really got into the roots of what I needed for my skin, she had an amazing knowledge of not only the products but the science behind skincare and how it really works. After the consultation, I was able to contact her again if I had any questions or concerns which really meant a lot to me.

As I said the consultation service is available to absolutely everyone and is completely free of charge, you can receive your personal consultation by calling 1-800-831-4088.

Products

The Paula's Choice Skincare products that I received after my consultation were:

- Clear Anti-Acne Kit which consists of
- Clear Pore Normalizing Cleanser ($12)
- Clear Anti Redness Exofliating Solution ($28)
- Clear Daily Skin Clearing Treatment ($18)
- Oil Blotting Sheets ($8)

-The Hydralight Collection which consists of
- Hydralight Healthy Skin Refreshing Toner ($20)
- Hydralight Moisture Infusing Lotion ($28)
-Hydralight Shine Free Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 ($28)

My consultant chose these products specifically because I have combination-dry skin that is very breakout prone. I have issues with clogged pores around my chin and I am plagued by small bumps and congested skin so we chose the Clear Acne Kit to help clear out my pores. The Clear Acne Kit ($58) comes in two stages, normal and extra strength. Both kits come with a cleanser, exfoliant and treatment that you can then pair with your favourite toners and moisturizers. There are also trial kits ($19) so you can test out the line for two weeks without a massive commitment.

I received the extra strength kit which is essentially the same as the regular but with a higher concentration of acne fighting ingredients. The exfoliant is packed with 2% Salicylic Acid while the treatment has 5% Benzoyl Peroxide, the combination will seriously get down into those pores and destroy all of the bad stuff. To combat any dryness we wanted to balance it out with the Hydralight line that would provide moisture without clogging those pores.

Before receiving these products I had been using and loving the Skin Balancing Pore Reducing Cleanser ($25), Skin Balancing Oil Reducing Toner ($20) and the Skin Perfecting BHA Liquid ($28) all from Paula's Choice. I wanted to test out the new products and see what the differences were between the various lines. After about a week, I was able to gauge which products were working for me and which weren't. I ended up mixing and matching and creating my own routine with products from each line.

(L-R Clear Treatment, Skin Balancing Cleanser, Clear Cleanser)

Routine

The final routine I settled with was composed of a mixture from the Clear Kit and the Skin Balancing Kit.

Cleanse - I start by cleansing my skin with the Skin Balancing Cleanser, this cleanser is a lovely milky texture that foams easily making you feel like you have truly clean skin but without any sort of irritation or stripped feeling.

Tone - I then swipe the Skin Balancing Toner over my entire face on a cotton pad for an instant refreshed feeling that adds a bit of hydration to my skin.

Exfoliate - Taking another cotton pad, I sweep the Clear Exfoliating Solution over my chin and jawline to combat any lingering bacteria and fight any existing pimples.

Treat - I take a tiny bit of the Clear Daily Clearing Treatment and apply it to any persistent bumps that won't go away. This stuff penetrates deep down and really helps to fight all of the bad stuff in my pores.

Moisturize - After all of those steps, I let everything sink in for a minute before applying my eye cream (Benefit's It's Potent), a serum and a moisturizer (Olay's Visibly Radiant).

I am so incredibly happy with the final routine. For the first time in months I am seeing a positive change in my skin and it is all thanks to Paula's Choice. The Clear Anti Acne Kit and Skin Balancing Line have proven to me that there are products that will do what they claim. They treat my unhappy skin and remove all of the gunk without irritation or dryness, any spots I have are disappearing faster than ever before and any old scars are starting to heal. I am starting to actually enjoy washing my face, something I never thought possible.

Final Thoughts

I have been so thoroughly impressed with Paula's Choice, they are a company that sticks to their guns and produces products that truly follow through. They only sell products that are good for your skin and they respect you as a consumer. I love that every Paula's Choice product is affordable and can be customized to suit your specific needs. No matter what you skincare concerns are I know that Paula's Choice will have the solution so take advantage of the personal consultations and give PC a try. They have a 100% money back guarantee (within 60 days) and if you want to dip your toes in before you buy, you can try samples of each product first.

I'm so happy to say that because I teamed up with Pretty In My Pocket and I am a "Power Primper", I have the chance to offer you 20% off your Paula's Choice purchase as well as free shipping! Use the code PRIMPFALL20 to get your discount, it will expire on December 31st 2015.  Click the banner or here to access the code!

The Sunday Post

Hey Beauties!

I'm so sorry I've been a bit MIA this past week, the last couple of weeks have been so crazy busy that I am just exhausted. I needed to take a few days to relax and recharge so that's just what I did. I spent some time catching up on Youtube videos, cleaned the house from top to bottom and got acquainted with my bathtub and my Lush bubble bars.

I got back into the swing of things by attending an event at the Cabana Pool Bar in Toronto with Indeed Labs. The event was so much fun and I can't wait to share everything I learned but the star of the show had to be the amazing view.

I hope you had a great week! What did you get up to?

Style Saturday | Pretty In Pleats & Dixie Outlet Mall Giveaway

Hey Beauties!

Is there anything better than putting on a piece of clothing and feeling like a million dollars? It proves that it really doesn't matter what you choose to wear, the only thing that matters is how it makes you feel. For me dresses with flowy skirts always bring a smile to my face. There is something about being able to twirl around freely that can make my day. The pleats on this dress that I picked up from Suzy Shier add just the right amount of flow and make a rather simple dress feel like a ballgown. I could spend hours twirling round and round watching the pleats fly and I'm pretty sure I did just that when I took these photos.

Dress - Suzy Shier | Shoes - Sirens (Similar) | Sunnies - Target (Similar) | Lipstick - Gerard Cosmetics lipstick in Kimchi Doll

Now it's your chance to find something special that makes you smile, as I'm giving away a $200 gift card to Dixie Outlet Mall! I was able to create 3 killer outfits for under $200 and if you want see them check out this post. Now onto the giveaway!

Review | My Favourite Morphe Brushes For Eyes

Hey Beauties!

Since I have become more adventurous in the world of eye shadow, my brush collection has drastically expanded. Where before I only had a few shader brushes and various blending brushes, now I have just about every possible kind of eye brush you can buy from a bunch of different brands in all sorts of hairs. I have had my favourite go to brushes that I used over and over again like The Balm's Crease Love & Happiness brush but ever since I tried Morphe, I haven't been able to use anything else.

Morphe Brushes is a Los Angeles based company that offers high quality brushes, lashes, shadows, palettes and more for incredibly affordable prices. Makeup brushes are notorious for being ridiculously expensive (think MAC and Sigma) and they are also known for their price being directly related to their quality. Morphe seems to have knocked through those walls and guidelines by offering such fantastic brushes for such inexpensive prices. I have fallen in love with every brush I have tried so far and I thought I would share a little bit about my two favourites.

The M504 otherwise known as the Large Pointed Blender retails for $6.99 USD and is an absolute staple in anybody's brush collection. It is one of the very first brushes I use in my routine and also one of the very last, simply because it can be used for so many different things.

It is essentially a large fluffy blending brush but it tapers towards the tip into a small point. It's large size makes it perfect for covering a large surface area in a small amount of time, such as laying a base shadow all over the lid or placing the first transition shade into the crease. The pointed tip makes it ideal for fitting into the crease to buff out any darker shadows and creating a seamless transition. I personally use it after almost every shadow to blend out the edges into a smooth gradient because it does such a fantastic job.

The E17 otherwise known as the Crease Precision Blender also retails for $6.99 USD and is part of the Elite Collection, a range of synthetic brushes that Morphe says are their best yet. The E17 is an another awesome multipurpose brush that everyone needs to own.

It is almost the exact same shape as the M504 but it is much smaller and much more dense. It carries the most width in the middle that then tapers into a pointed tip. It is also a duo fibre brush so it is great for putting product onto the lid without placing too much. It gives you the ability to softly build up the pigment and then the fibres makes it incredibly easy to blend out.

The combination of these two brushes make for a perfectly blended eyeshadow look and for only a few dollars compared to some other brushes on the market, without sacrificing any of the quality. I also featured two brushes and a few more in my July Favourites video so if you haven't seen it, make sure to check it out!

Have you tried anything from Morphe Brushes?

The Sunday Post

Hey Beauties!

As you read this post, I am off at my nephew's 3rd birthday party and I am probably having the best time because he is so freaking cute. I can't explain how happy I am to get to spend this day with him but it kills me that he's getting so big!

Anyway for this week's recap I thought I would include a photo of his best friend Snow the cat, who he never stops talking about even though he's only met her twice. She and I have been having non stop cuddles this week because it has been non stop raining and she just can't get any cuter. I also wanted to include the quote above because it really stuck with me when I saw it on Instagram a few days ago.

I also had two new videos this week, an unboxing of an international makeup swap and a tutorial for a cranberry smoky eye.

How was your week?

The She Who Hunts Finds Challenge | Outfit Reveal & Giveaway

Hey Beauties!

Last week I told you guys that I would be visiting the Dixie Outlet Mall, who had challenged me to create a fashionable outfit on a budget as part of their She Who Hunts Finds Blogger Challenge. Well, this past weekend I set out with $200 and a goal in mind, instead of finding just one outfit I wanted to see how many outfits I could create with the money. I always emphasize making the most of what you have and it's so important to me that I show you how easy it is to be fashionable on a budget. I don't think you need to spend that much on one outfit so instead I created three.

I must say that the Dixie mall was much larger than I expected and it was packed with some of my favourite stores and brands. Even though it was so large, it was super simple to navigate and find what I wanted. I made a plan ahead of time and knew which stores I wanted to hit first and what sort of pieces I was looking for. I think that is a simple trick that can make shopping so much easier when you are surrounded with so many people and so many options.

At the end of the day, I had discovered some pretty amazing deals and scored some killer pieces that will work for the rest of summer as well as transitioning into fall. I ticked off almost every item on my list and left feeling totally victorious.

Since I decided to create more than one outfit, I chose to take a quick shot of each outfit but there will be full posts of each one in the coming weeks so stayed tuned for even more details.

The first two outfits were inspired by this awesome army green muscle tee from Urban Planet. I saw it on a mannequin and knew I needed to have it for fall, it is the perfect shade of green that I feel like I can actually wear and it has a warm earthy vibe to it that I just love. It cost me $9.99 and I think it was worth every penny. I knew I wanted to show you a way to wear it super casual but also dress it up a bit because it's such a versatile piece.

For the dressier outfit, I picked up a black midi skirt from Urban Planet ($16.99) and then paired it with these amazing lace up heels from Sirens ( $34.99), a pair of sunglasses ($4.98 from $12.99) and a necklace ($12.99) from Aldo.

For the more casual outfit I took the same tee, heels and necklace and paired them with my go to Old Navy leggings, a long line cardigan from Sirens ($12.00) and another pair of sunglasses from Aldo ($4.98 from $12.99)

My third outfit was a spur of the moment addition because I saw this stunning powder blue dress in Dynamite and it was on sale from $39.99 to $15.00! I already own the same dress in a peach colour and it is one of my absolute favourites dresses so I just about died when I saw this shade. For the finishing touches I added the same pair of gold sunnies from Aldo and a pair of nude flats from Aldo ($19.99 from $39.99)

Overall, I was able to create three outfits for only $131.91, I picked up a couple other random goodies as well but I couldn't be happier with the outfits I created. Even though I paid full price for some items, I still saved $60 and that is a total win in my books.

Which outfit is your favourite?

Don't forget to visit www.dixiewildside.com to discover your wild side and a chance to win a $1000 shopping spree.

Review | Benefit Cosmetics Do The Hoola Beyond Bronze Kit

Hey Beauties!

Are you ready to do the hoola?

Benefit Cosmetics is famous for their genius Tips & Tricks Beauty Kits like How To Look The Best At Everything, Primping With The Stars, Feelin' Dandy and World Famous Neutrals. These kits, filled with travel sizes of their best selling products in carefully curated themes and looks have been and will probably always be a gigantic hit with beauty lovers and new adventurers alike because they give you the chance to test out multiple products at once and at an affordable price to boot!

Well now there are three more kits to add to your collection! Benefit has decided to release three new kits that are exclusive to Sephora. Along with the Do The Hoola kit, there will be a They're Real! Sexy On The Run kit featuring two mascaras, an eyeliner and the They're Real makeup remover and an Operation Pore-Proof Kit featuring the entire Porefessional range, a Dr. Feelgood Balm and the new Shy Beam matte highlighter.

The Do The Hoola Beyond Bronze Kit ($44 CAD) comes in the shape of a small book and is covered in the classic Hoola bamboo print. It's the perfect size for carrying with you for travel or even a night at a friends. The kit is centred around Benefit's iconic Hoola Bronzer, a must have in any beauty lovers collection, but this kit takes Hoola to the next level.

Benefit has created this kit to give you the most believable bronze that will make you look like you spent a week in Hawaii. It consists of 5 deluxe sizes of Benefit's best selling products, you get a Hoola Bronzer, an Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in Hoola, a They're Real Mascara in Black, a Benebalm Lip Balm, and an exclusive sneak peek at one of Benefit's upcoming releases - the Dew The Hoola Soft Matte Liquid Bronzer!

The Do The Hoola Kit also comes with super handy Tips & Tricks sheets that highlight each product and help you figure out how to incorporate them into your bronzing routine.

The original Hoola Bronzing Powder ($36 CAD) is a warm, matte bronzer, it is the perfect shade that is not too warm and not too cool so it flatters every single skin tone and gives a naturally sun kissed appearance. It can be used for warming up the complexion or for more specific tasks like contouring the face.

The Benebalm Hydrating Tinted Lip Balm ($23 CAD) is the lip balm version of Benefit's classic Benetint stain, it is a gorgeous rose tinted balm that conditions and hydrates with mango butter while giving a layer of sheer but buildable colour.

The Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in Hoola ($21 CAD) is a gorgeous golden nude gloss with tiny gold shimmer that makes lips look juicy and plump. It glides on and feels like silk on the lips, there is no stickiness to be found just comfortable and hydrated lips.

The They're Real Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara ($31 CAD or $16 for travel size) is another iconic Benefit product, it's a wonder mascara and a long time favourite of mine. It magically lengthens, curls, volumes, lifts and separates all at the same time, reaching even the shortest and most stubborn of lashes. It gives you a spectacular falsie effect without any of the work.

Lastly, the product everyone is waiting for - the Dew The Hoola Soft Matte Liquid Bronzer is a tan coloured gel with no shimmer or glitter in sight. It is the perfect shade to give you a gorgeous golden glow, it looks quite warm when you first see it but it blends out to the perfect natural tan. The tone is so natural and wearable that it works for even the palest of skin tones - like myself - but might not be dark enough for darker complexions.

The gel itself is very lightweight and thin with sheer coverage but I found that you can build it up to make it as intense as you want. It blends out seamlessly and practically melts into the skin so that you can't even feel it but you can visibly see the difference.

I've found there a number of ways that you can incorporate Dew The Hoola into your routine. You can wear it as a golden base under your makeup, you can mix it into your foundation for a golden glow, you can wear it alone on no makeup days for a boost to your complexion, you can use it a contour base under the Hoola powder or you can apply it on top of your foundation where you would normally bronze for a more dewy, radiant glow.

{ L-R Benebalm, Hoola Lipgloss, Dew The Hoola, Hoola Bronzer}

I have fallen in love with Dew The Hoola because it gives the same golden glow as it's powder counterpart but without the powder. I am a huge lover of cream and liquid products, especially during the summer, because they really give you a radiant glow that you just can't achieve with powder and it is much more friendly on dry skin. I have loved wearing it alone on a daily basis as well as on top of my foundation as my bronzer.

Benefit's Do The Hoola Beyond Bronze Kit is an absolute winner and perfect for the last few weeks of Summer. It gives you the chance to test out all of Benefit's best bronzing products in a travel friendly kit and best of all you get a sneak peek at the newest bronzing champion. It's even great for Benefit veterans who want to have a handy mini size of their favourite products. If you have already tried the rest of the products in this kit or if you are completely new to Benefit, I highly suggest you get your hands on it even if it's just for the Dew The Hoola Liquid Bronzer.

The Benefit Do The Hoola Beyond Bronze Kit retails for $44 CAD and is exclusive to Sephora.

New In | Two New Mac Cosmetics Additions

Hey Beauties!

I bought my first MAC Cosmetics lipstick in high school and it's been a love affair since first swipe. My first loves were Hue and Russian Red and I have added a few shades since then but recently the urge to grow my MAC collection has grown stronger and stronger. I plan on doing a little bit of MAC shopping soon but I started off with two new lipsticks to add to my collection.

With a list of lipsticks that's about a mile long it was difficult to narrow down my choices but I finally decided on two classic MAC shades that made the transition from lip liner to lipstick via the recent Matte Lip Collection.

Whirl is a stunning warm red brown described as a "dirty rose" and it is of course that classic Kylie Jenner shade. It is my absolute favourite lipstick shade right now, I have been mixing liners and lipsticks for the past few months trying to create this exact shade but now I have it in one quick swipe.

Stone is a classic cool toned taupey brown, a very unique shade that you don't see often but it is all the rage on social media. I am completely obsessed with cool tones right now and I can't get enough of anything greige. Stone is the perfect lipstick because you can wear it alone for a true cool look or layer it over a pink lip liner for a more wearable effect.

Being from the Matte Lip Collection, both Whirl and Stone are true matte lipsticks but they are surprisingly creamy and easy to both apply and wear. They stick to your lips and last for hours on end but they will transfer and fade if you eat or drink. They feel comfortable all day long and not at all overly dry, if you are prone to finding matte lipstick uncomfortable a lip balm underneath with help.

I'm really quite happy with these two lipsticks and I can't wait to pick up a few more. What are your favourite MAC lipsticks? What shades should I pick up?

New In | Maybelline Colour Blur by Lip Studio Matte Lip Pencils

Hey Beauties!

Maybelline won my heart over last year with their Creamy Matte Lipsticks and since then I have been waiting for them to bring some more matte lip products into our lives because no one does it better. Of course, they were way ahead of me and had this secret weapon up their sleeves - the Colour Blur by Lip Studio Matte Lip Crayons.

The Maybelline Colour Blur by Lip Studio Matte Lip Crayons are the answer to our matte lip prayers - although I am DYING to know if we will get the new shades of the Creamy Matte lipsticks! They come in 10 vibrant shades that range from bold and bright to neutral and fuss free. The packaging is perfection, it is modern and compact with it's slender body, retractable pencil, colour coded middle and matte texture. These pencils stand out in the massive aisles of the drugstore and are guaranteed to capture anyones attention.

The Colour Blur pencils are dual ended with a retractable pencil on one side and a silicone smudger on the other. I will talk more about the smudger later on but lets start with the pencil itself. The Colour Blur formula is simply beautiful, they are an ultra creamy lipstick in a pencil form which makes for much easier application. The creamy formula makes it possible to have a stunning matte finish without any of the dryness or tightening that normally occurs with a matte lipstick.

They glide on with no tugging or skipping and simply melt into the lips with a soft, velvety feel. They leave an even matte finish that doesn't accentuate dryness or settle into lines. If you have overly dry lips with excess skin they will cling but after exfoliating that dead skin away they will apply beautifully.

In terms of colour payoff, these babies are insanely pigmented and just plain beautiful. Of the 5 pencils I own, all 5 are one swipe wonders that offer opaque, even colour in just that - one swipe. You can see in the swatches below, which are all one swipe, that these pencils are no joke. They are all packed with pigment and can be built up for an even more intense look or blended in for a more subtle one.

All of the shades last for a good 6 hours before you need to reapply and they remain vibrant for the entire time. Once they do fade away, the darker shades leave behind a gorgeous stained effect that looks awesome on it's own. Due to such a creamy formula, these will transfer if you eat but they do not migrate or feather into fine lines around the lips.

{L-R I'm Blushing #45, I Like To Mauve It #50, My, My Magenta #40, Cherry Cherry Bang Bang #25, Berry Misbehaved #15 }

Back to the smudging tip, the Colour Blur pencils are designed to bring a Korean beauty trend to the North American market. Ombre lips are a massive trend in Asia and Maybelline makes it easy for us to achieve that effect with their exclusive silicone or "elastomer" smudger.

The smudger is intended to blur the edges of the lipstick to create an ombre appearance, it has a flat tapered tip that fits perfectly in the hollows of your lips, it is soft and smooth and easy to use, although a bit large. Maybelline suggests that you apply the lipstick in the middle of your lips and gently use the smudger to bleed the product outwards leaving you with a popsicle stained sort of look. Check out the photo below to see an example!

The Maybelline Colour Blur by Lip Studio Matte Lip Pencils give you two ways to rock a fun matte lip and the formula is pretty amazing too! Maybelline is the master of matte lips and I am so happy that they knocked it out of the park yet again with these babies.

The Maybelline Colour Blur by Lip Studio Matte Lip Pencils retail for $11.99 CAD and can be found in your local drugstore or online here and here

The Sunday Post

Hey Beauties! Happy Sunday!

I have to admit that this week has been pretty boring and I have nothing fun and exciting to report. I spent my week around my house, cleaning, writing, taking photos and doing a lot of reading. Of course I played around with makeup even though I had no where to go and I am loving cool tones right now, all I want to put on my face is tones of grey, beige and purple.

I have also spent quite a bit of time researching MAC makeup because I want to dive into exploring the rest of the line. I love the lipsticks but I have never tried anything else from the brand, what are your favourite MAC products?

Of course, I had two new videos this week, My July Beauty Favourites and a fun makeover with Michelle from Teach In Fashion. Make sure you check them out!

How was your week?

Style Saturday | Nautically Inspired

Hey Beauties!

Do you ever find yourself so integrally inspired by a culture or style that you unintentionally create outfits around it without even realizing it? I have noticed over the last little while that I always seem to put together outfits that have some sort of French nautical inspired vibe and it doesn't even occur to me until I see a photo of the outfit or someone points it out.

This outfit is a staple in my summer wardrobe, the striped dress is so lightweight and comfortable and you can just throw it on to run out the door. I tend to pair it with my brown H&M satchel because I love the warmth it brings to a rather blue outfit and the scarf tied to the bag always seems to add a bit of Parisian flare. These brown tortoise sunnies are one of my favourite pairs, they go with absolutely everything and look so chic and luxe with the open bottom half.

Dress - Forever 21 (old) | Handbag - H&M (old) | Sunglasses - Forever 21 (Similar) | Sandals - Ardene | Lipstick is Gerard Cosmetics in Rodeo Drive

If you want to see more of this dress in action check out my Summer Lookbook!

Review | L'oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation, Powder & Setting Spray

Hey Beauties!

Every single time I sit down at my vanity and pull out the products to use that day, I consciously try to pick new things and rotate through my collection but I cannot for the life of me convince myself to put down the L'oreal Infallible collection.

Ever since I purchased the L'oreal Infallible Pro Matte collection - about two months ago - the rest of my foundations and powders have been left behind. I have rambled on and on for those two months about how amazing the line is but I have never actually sat down to review it because I was just so absorbed in loving it- better late than never right?

The L'oreal Infallible Pro Matte collection consists of three products - a foundation, a setting powder and a setting spray. All three products can be used in conjunction with one another or separately. I definitely have my favourites that I use more often than others so let's start with my personal favourite - the foundation.

L'oreal describes the Infallible Pro Matte Foundation ($19.99) as demi matte and air light. It is oil free and claims to last 24 hours. I describe it as perfect skin in a bottle.

The Pro Matte Foundation comes in 9 shades, all of which are yellow toned apart from the lightest which is more pink. It is a very creamy liquid based foundation that delivers the effect of matte skin without ever looking dull, dry or cakey. I agree with the demi matte claim because it gives you the matte look but is also has a luminosity that helps your skin look natural and never flat. It glides on effortlessly and blends like a dream, whether you use a brush or a sponge it is super easy to blend and buff the product into the skin for that flawless airbrushed finish.

It has light to medium coverage in one layer but you can build it up to a high-medium. No matter how much you apply, it never seems to get cakey, thick or heavy. It feels feather light on the skin, I am super aware of the way a product feels on but with this you truly feel like you have nothing on. It flawlessly covers redness, pigmentation, uneven skin tone and pores. It doesn't accentuate those pores or bring attention to problems with texture, but glides over them to give you the appearance of perfect skin.

I have combination skin and never find it dries me out and clings to any sort of dry patches but as a matte foundation I can imagine it wouldn't be the best for ultra dry skin. I always moisturize before I apply my makeup and that might be the key but this foundation is definitely better than other matte ones I have tried.

In terms of the 24 hour claim, I have not and I will never try wearing my makeup for that long but with that being said I have no doubts that this foundation would make it. This stuff has stayed put through rain storms, work outs, dance classes, 40 degree days and more. No matter what I throw at it, it seems to persevere. I have worn it for 14 straight hours and it looks exactly the same at the end of the night as it did when I first applied it. Most foundations will disappear and break up around my nose but not this stuff. It might be in thanks to it's Micro Sponge Technology that absorbs oil as it appears. Whatever magical ingredient lives inside this foundation it works.

The Infallible Pro Matte Powder ($15.99) is a pressed powder that comes in 4 shades and is designed to be to set foundation or alone for a sheer layer of coverage. It comes in a clear topped compact so you can see the product inside, it also has a mirror and a sponge for on the go touch ups. It has a velvety smooth texture, sheer coverage and a soft matte finish. Just like the foundation it gives you the look of matte skin but while retaining a healthy glow so your skin never looks dry, cakey or flat. Instead you are left with the look of real skin, it is difficult to tell that you are even wearing anything.

The Pro Matte Powder layers on top of the foundation as well as itself beautifully and blends well. Thanks to it's velvety, lightweight texture, it can be lightly dusted onto the skin or even buffed into it. In terms of oil control and lasting power, I find that it absorbs any oil that might appear throughout the day without making my skin look dry and I can apply it in the morning and not need to touch up even once. As I said before, I have combination skin so someone with overly oily skin might have to touch up once or twice.

The Infallible Pro Spray & Set ($16.99) was inspired by the best kept secrets of the best makeup artists during crazy fashion weeks around the world. Considered a micro-mist , the Pro Spray & Set is an oil-free, non-comedogenic setting spray along the lines of Skindinavia and Urban Decay. It comes housed in a matte black bottle with 3.4 fluid ounces. The back of the bottle offers tips on how to apply the spray to achieve the best effect, including the common X or T method.

The spray is indeed micro, it feels very gentle and fine and doesn't leave you too wet. It takes a few seconds to set and when it does you are left with a nice soft matte feel, it doesn't leave you sticky or tacky whatsoever. Once it dries fully, your makeup will be practically indestructible, when paired with the other Pro Matte products and with other foundations it sets your makeup into place for hours upon hours of wear.

The combination of the entire Infallible Pro Matte collection is your secret weapon for fighting oil as well as makeup fatigue, disintegration and migration. Each product is a winner individually and compare to the best of the best even beating out some more prestige products in my opinion. If you find yourself at the drugstore, make sure to pick up at least one of these products and you won't be disappointed.
