New In | L'oreal Paris True Match Lumi Illuminating Primers & Highlighting Powders

Hey Beauties!

One of my favourite things about summertime makeup is that it is completely okay to rock that glowing goddess look from head to toe. Dewy skin is practically a staple in the warmer months and if you are anything like me you will take all of the glow you can possibly get.

Unfortunately, it can be really difficult to find any sort of highlighting products in the drugstore! Higher end brands like Becca, Benefit, MAC and Make Up For Ever have completely taken over the market for highlighters but not all of us have the ability to fork out $40 dollars for a product that we might not use all the time.

For years the only highlighting product I could get at the drugstore was the L'oreal Magic Lumi Illuminating Primer and if you have been reading for awhile you will have seen it featured in countless posts. Revlon came out with their version a couple of years ago but they didn't offer quite enough intensity for me but now L'oreal has answered my prayers with their new True Match Lumi liquid and powder illuminators!

The True Match Lumi collection makes highlighting incredibly simple by incorporating their True Match shade range system into both the liquid and powder products. If you are familiar with the True Match foundation you will know that it comes in a massive range of shades all of which are sorted into cool, neutral and warm undertones. The Lumi collection also features those various undertones with the letters C, N and W. This makes it so incredibly simple to decide which shade is right for you based on your complexion. The collection features three shades, Ice in C301 - for cool toned (fair) skin - Rose in N201 - for neutral toned (medium) skin and Golden W101 - for warm toned (medium to deep) skin.

The Liquid Glow Illuminators are a dual primer and highlighter that can be worn underneath or mixed into foundation or placed along the high points of the face to add an extra glow to your face. It is an ultra creamy, lightweight liquid that feels smooth and velvety on the skin but packs a punch of highlighting power.

They are insanely pigmented and have no sparkle or glitter just a perfect pearlescent glow that is all thanks to L'oreal's exclusive Pearl-light Technology - a specifically formulated technology that offers optimal colour purity and brightness for high intensity results. It also assists to evenly distribute colorants and improves colour payoff. Because it so intensely pigmented a tiny bit goes a long way and it can be easy to go overboard so start with a drop and work your way up.

They blend beautifully and leave behind a stunning glow that makes your complexion look healthy, radiant and lit from within. The shade Ice* is a beautiful pink tone that is perfect for fair skin and the shade Rose* is a true rose gold that is gorgeous on tanned skin or for adding that tan look to fairer complexions.

{ Ice & Rose with the original Magic Lumi for comparison}

While they knock the highlighting side out of the park I have to admit that I have not really tested out the primer side. I have worn the Ice shade as a primer twice and it was really beautiful, it gave me an all over glow and my L'oreal Pro Matte Foundation (the glow even showed through the foundation!) applied beautifully over top but the Pro Matte Foundation has such amazing staying power that I can't say much on the primer's ability.

The Powder Glow Illuminator is a palette with 4 shades meant to act as a blush, highlighter and all over illuminating powder. The powders are smooth and creamy and nicely pigmented but they are not quite as intense as the liquids. They apply smoothly and blend seamlessly on the skin and I don't have any problems with accentuating pores or texture problems but I have heard that people with larger pores do have an issue. They give the same lit from within glow with a pearlescent finish but the powder has a bit more of a noticeable sparkle. It is only noticeable up close but you will see small flecks if you look in the mirror.

The Palette comes in two shades, Rose and Golden. The shade Rose* has a champagne, a gold a bronze and a deep bronze powder that can be used individually or mixed together to create one shade.

Overall, I think L'oreal did an amazing job with the True Match Lumi Collection. The liquid illuminators are an absolute gem and far out do any other liquid illuminator I have tried. They are seriously gorgeous and I can't get enough of them. The powder is great and I really think it is again the best of the drugstore options but if you are used to something like the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecters you will notice that these are not quite as strong and smooth. I highly recommend both the liquid and the powders if you love a good glowy complexion.

The L'oreal True Match Lumi Illuminators retail for $16.99 CAN and will available mid-July at local drugstores.

The Sunday Post

Hey Beauties!

It's the last week of the month and to be honest I'm really glad it's almost over. This past month has been a bit of a rollercoaster and I need a break. The past week however has been quite fun. I spent time shooting with my favourite assistant Chloe, went on an adventure to find the perfect location for my Cinderella themed outfit post and had a night out with some beautiful blogger babes.

There will not be any videos this week as unfortunately, due to some circumstances Stephanie is no longer able to do Steph & Court. I will be launching my own channel in the next couple weeks so please stay tuned!

What did you do this week?

Style Saturday | A Modern Day Cinderella

Hey Beauties!

You all know that I am a huge believer in following your dreams and I'm also a massive Disney fan. I have a few Disney dreams on my bucket list including visiting Disney World and Disney Land, visiting the Hawaiian Disney Island, meeting all of the Disney characters I possibly can, having my very own glass slippers and getting to live a Cinderella dream. Well I recently had the chance to fulfil two of those dreams and of course I took them.

First I got my very own pair of Cinderella inspired shoes, they aren't quite glass slippers but they definitely feel like it. They are beautiful pumps covered in glistening diamonds fit for a princess. Then it was time to get my ballgown but I wanted to change it up a little bit. While I will always dream of wearing a full on Cinderella ballgown - maybe for my wedding dress - I thought it would be fun to do a more modern take with a tulle skirt!

I contacted the amazing Ganna from Hidden Room to see if she could help me design my perfect skirt and this is what we came up with!

Skirt* - Hidden Room | Top - Sirens | Shoes - Suzy Shier | Lipstick - Gerard Cosmetics in Kimchi Doll

I absolutely love the finished product and have never felt more magical. What are the dreams on your bucket list?

New In | Benefit Cosmetics They're Real Mascara & Push Up Eyeliner in Killer Colours!

Hey Beauties!

Chances are, if you say "They're Real" to just about anyone they will automatically know you are talking about Benefit Cosmetics. The They're Real line has been a household name since the original release of the They're Real mascara and only grew in popularity when the Push Up Liner was introduced last summer. They are the best selling prestige mascara and eyeliner in the U.S. and now you can experience them all over again in new colours that are beyond belief. Benefit Cosmetics is releasing both the They're Real Mascara and the Push Up Eyeliner in bold new colours that will completely change your makeup game.

The They're Real Mascara is one of my all time favourite mascaras and I always have a backup on hand. It gives you insane lashes that just couldn't possibly be real. Your lashes will be lengthened, volumized, curled and lifted to dangerous heights that we once thought only falsies could achieve. It has a unique wand that helps to dispense product evenly and coat every lash with a mascara that doesn't budge, smudge or dry out. It is the longest lasting formula on the market that will stay put through tears, swimming and even a nap or two. Now you can enjoy all of the They're Real benefits in two new rich statement making colours - Beyond Brown* and Beyond Blue*.

Beyond Brown is a rich chocolate brown with a warm undertone. It is the perfect everyday mascara for us girls with naturally lighter hair and the perfect subtle accent for girls looking for something a little less harsh without sacrificing badass lashes.

Beyond Blue is a complete showstopper. It is an electric royal blue that is intensely pigmented. The colour that you see on the wand is the colour you get on your lashes so you can rock a full on blue eye look or add it to the tips of your lashes with a black mascara for an extra hint of colour.

The They're Real Push Up Liner is the perfect partner in crime for the They're Real Mascara. Just like the mascara it made news in the makeup world by being the very first gel eyeliner in a pen form. The Push Up Liner took the idea of gel eyeliner and took out all of the guess work. The pen form is easy to hold and maneuver and the exclusive AccuFlex tip gets right down to the lash line for the perfect wing every time.

The formula is creamier than the typical gel liner in a pot, but it is still quite thick and intensely pigmented. It dries in seconds - so work fast - and leaves a rich matte black wing that won't budge or flake. It is waterproof, sweat proof, tear proof and smudge proof so it will last all day and all night long. Even though the eyeliner and mascara are so long wearing, they can easily be removed with an oil based makeup remover or something like Bioderma.

Benefit has taken the original Push Up Eyeliner and transformed it with 4 new rich jewel tone shades. The exact same creamy formula is now available in Beyond Brown*, Beyond Green*, Beyond Blue* and Beyond Purple*.

Beyond Brown is a matte chocolate brown with a warm undertone. Beyond Green is a matte forest green with cool undertones. Beyond Blue is a true matte navy blue and Beyond Purple is a matte eggplant with warm undertones.

All four shades are absolutely gorgeous and incredibly wearable. They are much easier to wear than a brighter neon because they all have quite rich, dark tones. They look quite sophisticated on the eyes and are a touch more subtle than black so you can wear them with any look. The hint of colour they offer is so rich that it will reflect and enhance a variety of eyes. The purple would be absolutely stunning on someone with hazel, brown or even green eyes and the blue is perfect for bringing out the true colour of my blue eyes.

(L-R - Beyond Purple, Beyond Blue, Beyond Green, Beyond Brown)

I was so excited to test these babies out and I have to say that I love them. I am slowly working my way into using more colour in my makeup and these products are just the thing I needed! The mascara is already one of my ride or die products and the eyeliner is such a fun way to learn how to work with gel products.

I have already worn the blue eyeliner and mascara on multiple occasions and the purple is becoming a new obsession. I am doing my mom's makeup for her wedding and for her trial I used the brown mascara and eyeliner and they were stunning!! She will be rocking both of them on her big day and I have absolute confidence that they will last through all of the festivities.

The They're Real Mascara and Push Up Eyeliner in killer colours will be available on June 26th on the Benefit Website and in Sephora, Ulta and Murale. They both retail for $31 CAD. Be sure to check out my Instagram for a chance to win one of the Push Up Liners!

Current Drugstore Must Haves

Hey Beauties!

I don't think I'm the only person in the world that has an unhealthy addiction to makeup. I know there are quite a few of you that hoard every lipstick in every shade just like me but I also know that our obsession is completely unrealistic. The majority of the world buys bits and pieces to create a small daily kit with a few special pieces and it can be ridiculously difficult to figure out the best bits to buy when you're standing in the massive aisles of the drugstore. So I thought I would gather my absolute favourite, must have products from the drugstore and share a quick review of each one.

A Good Base

1) L'oreal Paris Infallible Pro Matte Foundation ($19.99) - My current go to foundation, it feels light as a feather while offering medium to full coverage. A airy liquid that blends like a dream and gives the appearance of flawless skin. A powdery finish that is perfect for us combination or oily girls.

2) Maybelline By Face Studio Master Conceal Camouflaging Concealer ($11.99)* - I have never found a concealer I love as much as this. It's creamy, smooth, crazy pigmented and has high to full coverage. It lasts all day long and doesn't crease. See my full review here.

Eyes Open

3) L'oreal Paris La Palette Nude 1 ($29.99) - A good eyeshadow palette is almost impossible to find at an affordable price but L'oreal figured it out! This palette has 10 warm tone neutral shades in matte, satin and shimmer. They have good pigmentation, they blend beautifully and they last on the lid. An all around winner! Check out my full review here

4) Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara ($9.99) - There are tons of great mascaras at the drugstore but none have captured my heart like this one. It gives full fanned out lashes, with length, volume and a super black tint. It has a handy double sided brush to get the most out of the mascara. See my full review here

Lovely Lips

5) Essence Cosmetics Lip Liner in In The Nude ($1.49) - A true gem at the drugstore. These lip liners are buttery smooth, crazy pigmented and feel so ultra comfortable on the lips. You can wear them along the edges of the lips or fill them in for a full day of no fuss lip colour. See my full review here

6) NYX Cosmetics Slim Lip Liner in Mauve ($3.50) - NYX always seems to knock it out of the park. Their slim lip pencils are one of my absolute favourite formulas and they beat out some of my higher end pencils. They are creamy and smooth and feel weightless on. They also come in 50 different shades! Mauve is the perfect rosy brown shade that you can pair with nudes, pinks and berries to add a bit of dimension or even wear it on its own!

7) Maybelline Colour Sensational Creamy Matte Lipsticks ($9.99) - Out of my entire collection of matte lipsticks I love none more than my Maybelline Creamy Mattes. They have the perfect formula, it's creamy, smooth and ultra pigmented. The best bit is there are so comfortable and you don't get any of that drying matte lipstick feel. Check out my full review here

8) NYX Cosmetics Butter Gloss in Tiramisu ($5.00) - To top the lips off, the Butter Glosses are my favourite. I love that they are creamy and melt into your lips without any stickiness. Tiramisu is the perfect nude with a hint of brown, I have been rocking it almost every day on top of one of my favourite lip liners.

So those are my absolute must have products from the drugstore. I think every girl needs these things in their collection and I hope this helps you narrow down the mass of products available.

What are your must have products?

Style Saturday | It's A Grid

Hey Beauties!

I'm not a big fan of patterns in my wardrobe but I am always looking for that one piece that might work for me. I tend to wear neutral colours while experimenting in different textures and fabrics instead of rocking patterns. Sometimes I'm drawn to a floral print but I often find that most patterns and prints are too overwhelming on my body. I'm quite short and I have a short torso so proportion is key and sometimes a big print can just be too much.

This grid print top caught my eye because it is something I have never worn before but it is also simple enough to not be overwhelming. I love that it adds a big hit of interest to my outfits without taking over. My favourite way to wear it is as a statement piece in a more neutral outfit, paired with my favourite black leggings, tan leather jacket and nude heels it looks super chic but also effortless.

Top - Urban Planet (similar) | Jacket - Esprit (similar) | Leggings - Old Navy | Heels - Forever 21

Do you like to wear patterns? What are your tips for incorporating patterns into your wardrobe?

Celebrating The First Benefit Cosmetics Boutique in Canada

Hey Beauties!

Benefit Cosmetics has been one of my ride or die makeup brands for as long as I can remember. They're High Brow pencil was the very first product I bought when I started to invest in makeup and it's still one of my favourites today. It's been so amazing to watch Benefit grow as a brand over the years and now I could not be happier to see them taking Canada by storm.

Benefit Cosmetics was started by Jean and Jane Ford, two sisters from Indiana and has grown into an international powerhouse that helps women discover their natural beauty. Benefit is all about self- confidence and simply enhancing the features you have to make you feel gorgeous. It's all about having fun with makeup and creating your own destiny.

They have spent years spreading their message through their fun packaging and show stopping products but now Canada is being invited to experience the Benefit lifestyle in a whole new way. With over 60 boutiques in the United States and even more in Europe, Benefit has opened the very first BeneBoutique right here in Toronto!

The BeneBoutique is every girls dream, a pink palace filled with makeup, glitz and glamour. It's open and airy and you feel at home the second you walk through the door. The Benefit boutique takes the aesthetic of the brand and their products and brings everything to life offering everything you could ever need. You can shop their line of makeup and skincare, get a makeover or a lesson from the Benebabes themselves. They have every product in the range and even some exclusive kits that can't be found at your local Sephora or Murale.

Take your visit a step further and visit the famous Benefit Brow Bar with licensed aestheticians who can treat you to anything off of their menu of services. Learn how to map out your brows (a trick that Jean and Jane invented themselves!), add some tint to those sparse hairs or shape them to perfection via waxing or threading. You can also get your lips, chin and face attended to in the comfort of the Benefit Brow Bar.

The Brow Bar stands out from all other salons and spas because it truly feels like you are having a pamper night with some girlfriends. The space is clean and ultra sanitary and all of the products and tools are obviously well cared for. No detail is left behind and you can be confident in whatever you choose to get done.

It doesn't stop there! Benefit also offers a full range of body waxing including, arms, underarms, legs, bikinis and Brazilians. For your comfort they have created gorgeous private rooms that feel just like the boutique - warm, welcoming and like a second home.

Once you have the perfect canvas you can finish your visit off with a spray tan! Benefit has paired up with Vita Liberata to offer the best of the best in organic tanning. Each airbrush tan is done by hand and customized to your needs. You can get a subtle glow or a full on tropical tan with the plant based spray that won't ever look orange or fake.

The Benefit Boutique is such a gorgeous place to visit for a shopping trip or a pamper session. I have never entered a spa environment that has felt as comfortable and welcoming as the Benefit Boutique. That feeling means that I will always return for anything I need done. To me comfort is key and Benefit has nailed it. Their boutique is a wonderland that any girl could spend hours exploring. If you live around Toronto I highly suggest stopping by to see it for yourself. If you don't live in Toronto, don't you worry! You can visit one of their Brow Bars inside various Sephora stores or you can keep your eyes open for a boutique opening near you soon!

Stop by the boutique for any service or contact them to plan a Beauty Bash for you and your friends. A Beauty Bash is an exclusive after hours private party at the boutique with snacks, bubbly and all of the treatments you could want. It's the perfect way to explore the new boutique so grab a group of girl friends and check it out!

The Benefit Cosmetics Boutique is located at 2614 Yonge Street in Toronto Ontario. You can contact them at 416 - 440 - 2769. To see a full list of treatments visit the Benefit website, keep in mind that prices are different in Canada.

A million thank you's to Benefit Canada for inviting me to visit the new boutique!

Review | Jordana Modern Matte Lipsticks

Hey Beauties!

We all know how popular the matte lip is right now, pretty much every brand is coming out with the latest and greatest of matte formulas and I'm slowly working my way through all of them to find the best of the best. I have tested a few that were frankly amazing - The Maybelline Creamy Mattes - and some that just didn't do enough for me, I like to think that I have worked out what really matters for a good matte lipstick and today I wanted to share one that is really quite good.

The Jordana Modern Matte Lipsticks are the newest release from Jordana Cosmetics, a company that I had never really paid much attention to before. I knew that they had a popular mascara and that their lip liners were favourites of some of my friends but that was as far as my knowledge extended. It wasn't until I started researching upcoming matte lipstick releases that I learned they were set to introduce the "modern matte". I was so intrigued that I immediately ordered a few shades.

The premise of the "modern matte" seems to come from the idea that a matte lip while gorgeous is traditionally ridiculously uncomfortable. Jordana decided that this was totally unnecessary and came up with a matte lip that felt like a second skin.

The Modern Matte Lipsticks are formulated with oils and beeswax to help lips retain their moisture and to prevent the lipstick from cracking or feathering. The formula really does succeed at creating a comfortable matte lip. These lipsticks never seem to get tight or dry and you can barely feel them at all. They are truly weightless and thin but packed with pigment. You don't ever feel the need to remove them or apply lip balm, you can wear these all day without worrying about your lips drying out.

The more nourishing aspects to the formula don't seem to have any sort of negative effect on pigment or wear time. These lipsticks come in 18 gorgeous shades all of which are bright, rich and intense. They are not necessarily opaque in one swipe but the colour you see in that one swipe is true to what it will be. They build up to full opacity in two layers and they don't have any issues with texture or application. The pigment is so strong for a lipstick that feels like nothing on the lips. It's almost like the pigment is floating in a weightless base.

The interesting about these lipsticks is that the true formula is hidden beneath a layer of wax. The tube itself is coated in a film that you need to break through to reach the creamy core. Before you work your way through that film, the lipstick will feel dry and apply patchily but if you warm it up on your wrist before you apply it, it suddenly becomes gorgeously creamy and smooth. Once applied they seem to adhere themselves to your lips and stick around for a good 6-7 hours. They have a staining effect so even when they start to fade around 5 hours you are left with a gorgeous colour that will take your for a few more hours.

Overall, The Jordana Modern Matte Lipsticks really deliver everything they promise and they have really nice matte lipsticks with a unique formula. They are not quite as nice as other options but for $2.99 you really can't go wrong. To see swatches of all 7 shades I own, check out this video on the Steph & Court Youtube Channel.

I also purchased a number of the Jordana Easy Liner Lip Liners and have been loving them, do you want to see a review?
