Style Saturday | Beating The Winter Blues

Hey Beauties!

It can be so easy to get drawn in by the winter blues, especially when the snow is 3 feet high - luckily I shot this just before a big storm - and it's just too cold to function. I'll be the first to admit that when winter comes around, I tend to leave the fashionable outfits in my closet in favour of leggings, fuzzy socks and big warm sweaters. The problem with wearing those comfy clothes day in and day out is that I lose a little bit of myself - and my self esteem - in the mass amounts of fabric.

The best way I've found to beat the outfit blues on those chilly days is to stick to simple pieces that feel comfortable but look like you put forth a lot of effort. This outfit is really made of just three key pieces, a - super soft - plain black 3/4 length sleeve top, a cozy knit midi skirt that's actually made of sweat pant type material and a blanket scarf! The combination looks chic and flirty but still feels like you're sitting on the couch in your favourite yoga pants. The best thing about this outfit is a little skirt twirling always makes me feel happy and feminine!

How do you beat the outfit blues?

  1. I love this! The red skirt is so vibrant and fun and I have a similar scarf and am properly obsessed :)

  2. I love the long skirt and scarf together, you look gorgeous in every single photo!

  3. Love this skirt! I wish I could wear a skirt like that :( I feel like it doesn't match my style at all!! Maybe a black leather one!

  4. You look beautiful! I love the bright red skirt with the fantastic scarf. Perfect for twirling in.
