L'oreal's Miss Manga | The Review

Hey Beauties!

If you are a long time reader you will know that I am a fan of big dramatic lashes and I'm not scared of a little clumping in the name of volume. I have gone through many a mascara looking for the perfect combination of volume, separation, curl, glamour and flutter and along the way I have found a few contenders but I've not yet found the one. Next up on the chopping block is the relatively new L'oreal Miss Manga Mega Volume Mascara in Black Angel. Miss Manga promises to share the secret to big Manga - japanese anime - eyes with 15 times more volume and while I am not even sure what Manga is I know I want to know the secret.

Miss Manga is definitely the first of it's kind with it's entirely unique 360 Flexor Brush, a flexible wand with a hinge of sorts that leads to a thin tapered brush with very short bristles. The flexible hinge allows the bristles to move or flex freely around the lashes and it gives you the ability to wiggle the wand at the base which is perfect for achieving that big volume. The tapered end makes it really easy to manoeuvre into the corners and edges so you can reach every last lash. The idea of a flexible brush take a bit of time to get used to, it does feel a bit odd when you first apply it but then becomes very natural.

While I really like the wand, the formula is where it gets a bit messy - literally. The formula of the mascara is very wet and thick so it does coat every lash very well and take very little work but it tends to get all over my eyelids. I even let it dry out for two weeks but still had issues. On the plus side, it is incredibly lightweight and holds up really well, it is not too stiff or crunchy but does clump a bit. Apart from the mess I really like the finished look. Miss Manga really amps up the drama just as it promised, you are left with gorgeous long, voluminous lashes that appear almost doll like and they hold their shape all day without flaking.

At the end of the day, I think that L'oreal's Miss Manga is a really great mascara but I think it is up to personal preference, I love the look but hate the mess so I won't get much use of it, while others might absolutely love it. If you love volume, you will definitely like this mascara so give it a try for yourself!

  2. I was really impressed by this mascara. It took a little getting used to the "wobbly" wand but the formula is pretty amazing!
