The Kate Spade Stationary HaulMonday, May 05, 2014
When you have a memory like mine - completely useless - it's incredibly important to write everything down. My mind is constantly moving from one thought to the next and I always - always - forget information in minutes. Of course, in this technological world, I could just write notes on my cellphone but I am a bit old fashioned at heart. There is just something so gratifying about writing your thoughts down on paper, especially if they are on beautiful stationary.
I've been admiring the Kate Spade NY stationary collection for the longest time but could never make up my mind. Finally, I ended up deciding on 3 different pieces. My first pick was a duo of pocket size notebooks. One has a classic black and white stripe, the other is a rose print. Each notebook has an embossed Kate Spade logo on the back and a phrase on the front - love it and live it. My favourite bit is that every other page has a quote or piece of advice amongst the lines. I love getting that little bit of inspiration when you least expect it. I also love how slim and compact they are - the perfect size for a handbag - but they still have quite a lot of writing space.
My second pick is a gorgeous gold polkadot note pad. This has to be my favourite pattern in the Kate Spade collection - I would have loved to get my hands on the matching planner. This little one lives on my desk to collect thoughts and lists in the making. It is quite hefty with 100 sheets but I wish there were perforations to cleanly remove a used page. I hate ruining the binding when I need to take out a note and I have a weird need to have old information removed.
My third pick was a set of stacked notepads, each with an adorable pattern - a floral, a paisley and a more modern geometric. These are perfect for jotting down quick notes before I forget. They come apart easily while the binding is strong enough to not bend and break.
Overall, all 4 pieces are amazing quality and the designs can't be beat. Kate Spade always wows with her classic and feminine style, and she is my absolute favourite designer whether it is in fashion or homewares.
I picked mine up from Indigo.ca but you can find more stationary on Katespade.com
